Went during lunch time, it’s very quiet during the week. Service was very quick. I had the torta ahogada with carnitas. It was very good. The sauce wasn’t spicy at all and more of a tomato based sauce. We also had the carne asada nachos, I wish the portion was a little bigger since it was so good.

We loved it here. Small, quaint, place as it's "JR" but the size of the brick and mortar doesn't matter. The food packs a big punch. I ordered 3 Quesabirria tacos. I should have only ordered 1. There was so much meat in 1 taco. The outdoor seating was lovely. I would definitely come again.

Waiter was great. But it would of been better if I could of ordered a cup of coffee with desert on a chilly evening. They had breakfast plates on the menu but we were told the cook didn’t have the “ingredients for coffee”

Tried this spot last week after watching a movie. Their Birria was delicious and very flavorful. The consome was tasty and had bits of meat which was so satisfying. We tried the tacos and mulitas and it did not disappoint. If you're in the area and craving for a Birria, come check this place out.

I ordered them on DoorDash, the pozole was so delicious and their salsa is super spicy. I also had the Chicharrón Taco De Canasta! Soooo yummy! I definitely want to try other menu items. Although I enjoyed my meal I don't think 5 stars would be fair since I did not experience the customer service and that's a huge factor in my eyes!

This is a great casual spot for Mexican food in Uptown Whittier. Currently they have outdoor patio seating (which may have expanded due to recent restrictions). The server was attentive and kindly explained the differences in several menu items to us, since we were not familiar with Guadalajara style food. We had the burrito and the torta. The portions were huge--you won't be left hungry. Everything was flavorful--the salsas were a highlight. I appreciated that they served us quickly too. I would definitely go back. If you're a local, this is certainly one to support!

Expensive and ridiculous. One taco is 4.99 plus tax comes out to 5.50. Se pasan de la madre. Not worth it. Better birria places with cheaper prices
Good find on Yelp .. came in for the pozole and yes it was good . If you don't like spicy then don't get it . It's super good . Taco was good to . Service was good . Only thing is I wish they had bowels .

First time coming here and it was delicious! We ordered mulitas and the cubano torra. All of it delicious! We ordered a birria mulita, asada mulita & a al pastor mulita and they were all very delicious good flavor. The service was great! We will definitely be back and try something else!

This place is actually pretty good . The birria tacos we're good . Being from Guadalajara I'm usually picky when it comes to carne en su jugo , i did like the taste just wish there was carne in the jugo lol there was very little meat in it . Would try again .

I go to the Havana House next door to have a Cigar & Beer. They have an agreement with LA Chiva to buy food so the Havana House can stay open. I usually order the carne Asada & carnitas nachos plate. Its very tastey. They give you green & red salsa. I think the red salsa is a mole salsa that has peanut butter, I'm allergic to peanuts so I had a bad reaction luckily I had benadryl to reverse the allergy effects. All in all the food is good but they should have a sign stating what oils they use with their salsas and good as a precaution for their customers.
