Made a Sunday reservation to only show up to the venue with the doors locked and no one inside. NO courtesy announcement to inform why they were closed. Very unprofessional and very poor of management.

This is the most dirtiest and disgusting restaurant i’ve ever been too. Glassware needs to be cleaned better, there was lipstick stains on it. The table were sticky and gross.

I have been eating at this restaurant for 40 years. Even after the owner Jackie retired the new owners make his recipes. They have carried on New Cantons tradition. I'll be back.Wheelchair accessibility: They do have handicap assessable doors and a very nice bar.

Had a very good meal. Mushu shrimp and orange chicken, I think. Sounds very 'white folks' Chinese, I suppose, and not very adventurous but it was good. Pleasant, quiet evening. In other words, another Thursday night in Whittier LOL.

I have written and rewritten this review 4 times. If you want a quick gauge to the experience, check the stars. If you want an honest review, continue reading.I don't know where to begin. I won't bother you with the poor greeting and weird neon vibe in the restaurant/bar that is trying to be something it's not.Sat at the bar. Rule #1 for ANY bar: never put your point of sale (POS) directly in front of a paying customer. Literally could reach out and touch the screen while facing an employee as they enter an order. Worst placement. We ordered some drinks which were ok. Also ordered the chicken lettuce wraps which rivaled PF Chang. Quite good so complements to the chef. That brings me to Rule #2: Don't have conversations about other customers in front of other customers. These poor teenagers working in this place were more concerned with making sure an "influencer" was served correctly and making sure their food/drinks were comped rather than focusing on actual paying customers.Rule #3: have an actual bartender behind the bar. In the stupid chaos around the d*** influencer, the "bartender" was told by the waitress: he wants a Stoli martini. Bartender's reply? "Stoli? Never heard of it." .............I'm sorry...what!? I was staring at the bottle! Stolichnaya vodka is a staple in EVERY BAR.Enough of the rant, bottom line: New Canton missed the mark. I tried to give the benefit of the doubt, but so much disappointment and frustration. Missed Opportunity is a more appropriate name.

I don't know what happened to this place but the service is terrible the drinks are watered-down. What I don't understand the place was overstuffed but zero service place was empty bar was empty. 1/2 hour to get a watered-down Martin's. Went up the street to Azubu 2 drinks and a shot in 3 minutes food was amazing place was packed! I would eat at New Canton if they payed me.

Drinks are good. The food not so much, we ordered noodles, orange chicken, Mongolian beef and rice. The food wasn’t tasty and the beef did not taste fresh. It is a cool place to grab drinks but not food. Plenty of parking all around.

We arrived early on a weekday as the first customers of the day. We sat at the bar and ordered a few drinks and some food. The bartender was knowledeable and made excellent cocktails. The signature cocktails were unique, made with fresh ingredients, and tasty. I asked for a cocktail that was off the menu and it was made to perfection. We had Potstickers and Egg Foo Young. Although not on the menu, we asked for the Egg Foo Young to include shrimp that was delicious. Good presentation and excelent taste. We also enjoyed the service. Very friendly and anxious for our opinion as a newly renovated extablishment.4 cocktails, an appetizer, a main course and desert ran us about $100. Reasonable. The new decor was pleasing and fit in well with the Uptown Whittier vibe.I'm sure they will see us again.
