I was seated in the restaurant and was given a menu. I watched waitresses attend other tables, but no one came to my table (no one even said we will be with you shortly) and the restaurant was only about half full. The food looked good, but I got tired of waiting and so after about 15 minutes, I left.

Reminds me of a coffee shop with sushi.... but good nevertheless! Polite staff.

I went here for lunch with my family. I usually like coming to kabuki. This time it was a disaster. We ordered 3 entrees and a couple of sushi rolls. We got our miso soups and salad and the chirashi bowl and our two sushi rolls. But then we never got our hot entrees. It was at least 30-45 minutes and we still had not received our meal. I finally asked the waitress to cancel our orders. We were not happy with the terrible service we received. I don't think we will be going back to this kabuki.

The food here is really good! The spicy tuna on crispy rice and their hibachi fried rice are always my go-to choices... the best fried rice I've ever had!

Pros: the restaurant looks nice, atmosphere is solid. Portion sizes were good.Cons: Understaffed, so service is very slow. That would be forgivable except the waitress took our order and completely forgot about bringing us anything to drink and we had to ask for it. We had to ask them to bring the side of rice we had ordered. Asked for rare beef teriyaki. Got med-well/well and had to point that out to her. Had to ask for the check. Might as well have not been her table for all the care given to us. Won't be back again soon.

I don't make bad reviews. But when it comes to making a decision between practicing the Golden Rule, or accepting the karma that comes with talking ill for the sake of sparing somebody else, I decided to share my thoughts and take the karma. I've been coming here for 25 years. It's getting so bad, I have no words. More than the quality of food, it's the mere literal filth. I don't understand that this corporate or chain restaurant does not have standards to upkeep. They must be sleeping with the inspector or board of inspectors because this Kabuki does not even compare to its sisters or brothers. The location in Pasadena is on point! Fab. This place is like you have walked into the twilight zone and you wonder if you eat that bite in front of you, if-you will be calling in sick the following day. I'm appalled.

This place used to be good, but Quality of their food has demish a lot. I ordered seaweed salad, spicy edamames, and a veggie roll. The roll was good, but the salad was disgusting. They gave me a rotten and old salad. I couldn't eat it. I threw it away. The edamames tasted like car oil, so greasy and unbearable taste. Very disappointing! Would not recommend! Take your money to local sushi places.

Great food but they need more staff. The ambiance is okay, but I do wish they had more staff. Great sushi and happy hour deals and they support KCRW!

Waste of time and money, Worst sushi I ever had. All the materials was frozen. The place was not clean and service was bad. Never go back

The food was delicious as always and the server we got was super friendly and sweet! the only reason i'm giving it 4 stars instead of 5 was because it took the hostess a very long time to even get us seated or pay attention to us. We waited a longer time for the hostess to pay attention to us than getting seated and our food arriving. It was most likely because it was valentine's day which I completely understand, but it was something that has never happened to us in the 5ish years we've been going to kabuki. Other than that, everything else was great! The vibe was super calm and nice considering that it was valentine's day!

So sad to rate this lower this time around but after first going eight months ago where everything was excellent I started frequenting the place. I've had three or four bad experiences here. One time I waited a hour and twenty minutes for my food. However this was not the staffs faults but the upper level owners/ managers. They were understaffed and had a new employee as one of two servers. It is managements and owners responsibility to make sure their team has a fair fight and understaffing to make more money is so unethical. I've had mushy rice frequently. My friends calamari comes burnt then we ask for another which is still overdone but now comes with a weird rubbery piece in each bite!
