The restaurant has closed for good. Loved this place. It's sad to see the end of an era

I don't leave bad reviews often but my last two visits to Nicolas left me feeling very disappointed. This place serves some of the worst Italian food I've had. The time before last I had the seafood pasta which was so incredibly bland I could barely eat it. My most recent visit I went with a group and everyone felt their food was very mediocre. The only decent thing I've tried here is the chicken sesame. Last time I had the chicken Parmesan which was the worst chicken Parmesan I've ever had. The chicken was chewy and soggy from the watery marinara sauce pasta placed right on top of it. Service here is whatever. Our sever last time didn't have a great attitude. Bread and tiramisu are good. Overall there are so many other places you are better off spending your money.

It's always been the chopped chicken salad no raisins with an extra basin of sauce and focaccia. Yes, basin. Because when we order from here we commit to that sauce for a couple days after. It's so so good!!

Food was great! They close at 8:00 p.m. so they were rushing to get us out!

We have been eating at Nicola’s for many years and the food is always excellent. Service is very good, but prices have risen significantly in the last few years.

I’ve been going to Nicolas for over 20 years. I love their bread, salads and pastas. I went a few weeks ago and I thought the prices were insane!! $21 for their basic (BeBe mix) salad with NO chicken. I was just looking at a similar restaurant in Malibu and it was $19 for a salad with chicken. The BeBe mix salad shouldn’t be more than $16. The place was also pretty quiet for noon on a Friday. Perhaps if the prices were $5 per item lower it would be busier. Don’t be greedy with your pricing.

My go to place when staying at Woodland Hills Courtyard. Chicken Fettuccine is outstanding

I've known Nicola's Kitchen for over 20 years. This is the first time in 6 years that I've been back and I'm happy to report that the quality and service remain unchanged!

Food better than I remembered. Moved out of area 8 years ago so only get to go periodically.

I LOVE Nicola's. They have the best special chopped salad. Special means it comes with chicken. My girlfriend introduced me to Nicola's and we try to go every six weeks or so. Oh, and their focaccia is so good. We finish the basket every time. And they refill it as often as you want. We sometimes get a pasta dish to share along with our salad and focaccia. The pasta we get is angel hair with buffalo mozzarella, asparagus and sun-dried tomatoes in a light sauce. The servers are very friendly and accommodating. If I want to substitute a type of pasta, they have no problem with that. If we feel like it, we'll share a dessert. During the pandemic we ordered by phone for pick-up and asked for extra focaccia and it was great and ready on time. We had Oreo cheesecake one time and it was the best I ever had. I heard they don't make their desserts in-house but that's okay with me.The ambience is very nice as well. If you go for lunch, there's usually a lot of business people 'cause there's a lot of offices around there. It does fill up at times. I guess it depends what time you go.I only have good things to say about Nicola's. Go there and try it!

I've been on a Nicola's Kitchen food delivery binge for the last few months. I initially tried their food because I saw a Chicken Sesame dish on their menu. That was my all-time favorite dish from the now defunct Louise's Trattoria. I've been searching for a tasty facsimile for years. I found it. I've since ordered it probably 8 times. They also have a corn chowder that is out of this world. One of the best chowders or soups I've ever had. I'm absolutely addicted. Recently, I've branched out to other entrees with delicious success. Fettuccine with spicy sausage is fantastic. The Spinach Fettuccine w/Rosemary Chicken is very tasty. They have an interesting take on a Chicken Satay appetizer, very generous portions of grilled chicken and an zesty sauce that I wouldn't classify as your traditional peanut sauce but it is good nonetheless.Portion sizes are very good and a fair value for the money. I love how they include a container filled with delicious, warm focaccia bread. They don't skimp on anything!I'm looking forward to continuing to eat my way through the rest of the menu.Since I've only ordered via food delivery service I can't comment on the decor and ambiance of the restaurant but I'm sure the food would taste even better eaten hot out of the kitchen. I look forward to visiting the restaurant in the near future. If it isn't abundantly obvious, I highly recommend this spot. Enjoy!

It has a home style feeling here, the food taste good and the prices are reasonable. We ate Chicken Piccata, Chicken Marsala and Lasagna.Parking: Metered parking on Ventura Blvd is cheaper than the parking structure, the only problem is the meter only has 1 hour on it so we had to run outside to pay the meter because we wanted to stay and chat for a little bit.

A place we go to every once in a while and it remains good over the years. Portions are big, price is very reasonable, wine selection is good too. Service is good as well.

When ordering on line they charged me a $16 tip . Watch out for this . Food is just ok not the best at all . Pricy for what you get .

We were visiting from out of town so this was a family members pick. It was ok. We sat outside and it was nice out but it's covered so it doesn't matter. Food was ok at best. We got the goat cheese pizza and a chicken dish. I was set on getting the parm but we got the lemon one instead. Wasn't good. Don't get it. The bread they give you is good. They have small portions for the price. I dont know that we will be back but you never know. The service was good as they were training someone new but she was good.
