Hadn't been here since 2022 when I had an unpleasant experience with the branch. Decided to give it another shot with visiting family and had a much much better experience this time. Food was expectedly great; customer service now 5 stars. Shoutout to manager Andres for his kindness and honoring store credit that was offered back in 2022. Really made me and my family want to start dining here again.

Reason for visiting: Mama's birthday!Date/time of visit: Sunday night, ~8:00 PMParking: in the adjacent lot, shared with other businesses. Spots are tight. No valet.Party size: 13, 5 kidsEnvironment/ambience: noisy; pretty crowded and loud. No lines for the restrooms; they have sinks outside the restrooms if you want to just wash your hands and face.Service: ~1 hr wait; it was pretty crowded. They do not take reservations. You can order a beer while you wait; just can't take it outside. They offer bibs but no gloves.Food: had a bit of everything in butter and mixed with shebang sauce ?; king crab legs with butter, corn, sausage. Also had the wings, lemon pepper. Oysters too. Everything was good. Also had Micheladas with Modelo Negro. You can prob split 1 Michelada cup into 2.Cost: $1025, including tip (20%)

I loved the sha bang shrimp. It was so good, I'm salivating while writing this review thinking about it. The shrimp had so much flavour and was cooked to perfection. The sweet corn had soaked up all the flavour from the sha-bang sauce and it was simply delicious. I was thrilled to try this as we don't have a lot of restaurants like this in Vancouver.The reasons for the bad review:1.The dungeness crab(frozen).The meat was old and dry. It tasted really bad. And the meat did give out an off putting odor. This could have been a one off situation, however considering the fact that we spent $57 for 2lb, I think it's worth mentioning here. I was really looking forward to trying the crab. Sadly it just went to waste.2. In my initial assessment, I awarded the restaurant four stars. However, I observed that the business owner promptly responded to my review with a defensive remark. It appears that the owner may not have thoroughly reviewed the feedback, as my experience pertained to a take-out order. In the owner's response, there was a defense of serving subpar produce, suggesting that the responsibility rested on me to communicate this to the server which I would have done if I dined at the restaurant.I believe a more constructive dialogue would be beneficial for addressing such concerns in a professional manner and also to read the content of the reviews the business receives. By providing feedback, I aim to emphasize the sincerity of my opinions rather than seeking a refund or complimentary meal. My intent is to contribute to transparency, aiding both the public and businesses in understanding the quality of food and service. I believe that honest reviews foster improvement and cultivate an informed consumer base, benefiting both customers and establishments alike.
