This was my first time here and I loved it! My sister and her husband were visiting his family in Woodland and wanted to find a place where we could all meet up. We drove from Rocklin, and it took just under an hour. I had never been here but just suggested we try to find a winery to meet at and this seemed to be the best bet. This place was amazing! Their outdoor patio area was huge. Plenty of small and large tables, lots of umbrellas for shade, and a patio heater for almost every table when needed. The view is amazing. From the large patio you overlook the vineyard and the mountains in the background. The wine is wonderful. Our tasting was $15 each, waived with bottle purchase, and pretty much everyone purchased at least one bottle. The service was great. They accommodated our large group with no problem. They do have food trucks on occasion (check their website) but you can also bring your own food. My sister and her family brought a great charcuterie spread for us all to share and it was just a wonderful afternoon of family, friends, yummy food and delicious wine. I am already looking for a reason to go back!

I came here by myself after a 3.5hr drive to see the BF. He was still working, so I thought why not go and zen out and relax by myself. They were so welcoming and I found a nice quiet spot to enjoy the breeze and sunshine. It was awesome !!!

We loved coming here. It was a 3-day weekend but where was everybody. It was busy but not crowded. The music was great, the food truck was great, the rather was perfect, and, of course, the wine was excellent. We tried two different wines. I'm not a huge white wine person but really liked the New Zealand Chasing Venus Sauvignon Blanc. It was crisp and refreshing. We also had the Malbec which was also very good. End to spending a wonderful day in the area.
A total best kept secret. The staff is friendly, the views are breathtaking, and above all, the wine is delicious. A great, and relaxing experience without breaking the bank. There are days where there is live music and food trucks. The events can be found on their website. Your tasting fee (about $15.00) will be waived with the purchase of a bottle and on days where there is not an event you can bring your own snacks/food.

So every time we head north and see this "Zamora" exit Rich and I look at each other and make a plan to find out what's there? Today we found out... Nothing but a gas station with a deli and pizza joint.... BUT there was an amazing winery! It's literally in the middle of nowhere and beautiful. The wine steward, Rich...( won't forget him), was thee greatest! He waved my tasting. They do that when you buy 1 bottle. I bought 8. The grounds are gorgeous. We were treated like family and felt so relaxed we could have stayed all day. IDT if I'd go in the heat of summer, but today was perfect.

Had an amazing time at Matchbook winery. Enjoyed excellent tasting experience with Eileen. Enjoyed the following wines: Verdejo, Arsonist Chardonnay, Petit Verdot and their Cabernet Sauvignon. Good to drink now or age it for a few more years. Excellent price point. Vineyard views are hard to beat!
