I love this place, but I just drove by on 11/5/22 and there are "for rent" signs on the building. What happened?? Why no call to the community for help?

Great food but it's been closed for until further notice. The recording hasn't been updated either

I drove out of my way going north on I-5 to stop here, and it's closed. Says it's open until 5:00 p.m. Don't know if it's closed down permanently but they definitely need to update their Google listing. Bummer, looked good.

My 100th review is a celebration of one of my favorite places, The Elephant Shack!!!The menu is diverse and not cookie cutter corporate at all. Plenty to choose from, tasty side dishes and I'm partial to the onion rings so below is a pastrami/ pepper cheese with rings, and it certainly hit the spot today. The building has adequate seating, is well decorated with plenty of parking and located in a area that doesn't have a lot of competition, and that's kinda a plus for customers as a lot of the time, It's not to busy. It struggled through covid and various changes associated with small businesses, and the "open hours" has been erratic the last couple of years although the service has been good and they deserve to survive and in fact thrive. We need more food options like this!!!

The food was on point. But the staff sucked. Usually it's really good but there was yelling back and forth with the chef and waiter. Very disappointed.

THE WORST customer service! Slow as molasses and they'll bite your head off if you ask how much longer it will be. It took 40 minutes for me to get one sandwich that had been called in! Basically it took them an hour to create a turkey sandwich.

Food was absolutely delicious. I had a pastrami sandwich with all the toppings except for onion. My partner had the Turkey pesto (warm). The place is eccentrically eclectic in how it's decorated but that added to the cozy ambiance in our opinion. The bathroom leaves something to be desired but hey, it's a diner!

Shabby cafe reminiscent of a third country as far as cleanliness. Had to settle for fourth choice because they were out of this and that. Tasty though.

great food and service. I can't stand chain restaurants and pretty much only eat at local spots. The food is reasonably priced and freshly prepared. it's not crowded much of thee time either but hopefully it picks up. I have been here many times and plan to keep on coming. A gem of a restaurant!

Huge fan of this place. Food is fresh and not prepackaged. Good menu choices and friendly staff. Choices are limited in woodland. This place stands out. It's not in the "trendy" downtown/main street but is with going out of your way. We had a burger, chicken fried steak, a veggie melt and a Buffalo chicken sandwich. All were prepared very well. They also have good desert.

This establishment is closed for good. Doesn't look like it has been open for some time.

I came because of the yelp reviews. Sadly disappointed in the food. First of all you buy the side separately which is fine but give me what I paid for, the amount of fries they gave was what you could hater with your finger tips. The fries had no seasoning and you could tell either the basket hadn't been cleaned or they had a batch that burnt. Second of all all the food was super greasy my mom was literally using napkins to try to eat her onion rings. The French toast had no flavor other than deep fried Texas Toast. The bread was so greasy I couldn't eat it. The jalapeño burger only had two small slices of jalapeños. Definitely won't becoming back or would recommend eating here.

The food was amazing! They have something for everybody. If you are gluten-free, you want meat, pancakes, skillets, etc.! They are also only 10 to 15 minutes away from the Sacramento airport! It's family friendly they have a very cool funky decor and the service was totally amazing. They serve beer wine and mimosas, an added bonus :-) well worth the trip!
