I remember the Pioneer Saloon from when I lived in the Bay Area and worked in Silicon Valley. I came there with friends over a few decades and enjoyed the live music. And, way back in 1975, my brother, Tom Martin, was a first live music performer at the Pioneer Saloon. Tom is still a singer songwriter performer.

Went here with my girlfriend after visiting Filoli nearby. Seems like a nice spot. Oddly, this town is mostly a bedroom community for Silicon Valley VCs. We kept trying to guess which bar patrons were VCs.

I frequented this place years ago when I was working at a motorcycle shop and always enjoyed myself. I went there to watch a friend whom performed and was able to learn LINE DANCING, which was a real kicker. Enjoyment is the meaning of this delightful place. Thank you

They don't serve food, as it's a Saloon. The staff are very friendly, and I LOVED the stained glass windows!Parking: There's lots of parking in front, back, and side of the building.

They have an excellent and enthusiastic bartender here in this old roadhouse. They aren’t as busy as they were pre-pandemic. People need to start going out again! Make 2023 your year to go out and socialize. The Pioneer is beautiful inside, and it has a long history on Whiskey Hill. If you live in San Mateo County, take the short drive and stop in. Hopefully, the Pioneer will survive.

I've been going to the Pioneer Saloon for over 40+ years and had great times and memories here. Tonight was the last time. The tool behind the bar "has to go". I know just about every character that comes and goes here and we all seem to share the same sentiment, but she is just a downright B***** Most everybody I know that comes through the door here are just so fed up up with her attitude and don't stop in here anymore. What a shame as it's an old school place to stop in to have one or two.No wonder on a Saturday night there were only 4 people there-get rid of the nasty bartender once and for all!
