A nice ambience with solid food, easy parking, good service and overall a great dinner. We have done the dinner and wine pairing events in the beautiful courtyard with a tree full of twinkling lights, tonight we celebrated my birthday and were treated to a delicious slice of chocolate cake. We shared the gem salad which came in a nice big salad bowl, enjoyed the lamb shank Easter special, salmon and burger. Along with cocktails and wine. Recommend for any occasion.

Lovely brunch. Village Cafe is always a good choice. Their French toast is a pillow of bread (more like cake) with a huge dollop of vanilla cream. I've never had anything mediocre here.

This was my first time, and it was an amazing experience! We came here for an early Easter brunch, and were all blown away by the food and service. Diego was our server and he was absolutely fantastic! I will definitely be back and hope to have the pleasure of sitting in Diego‘s area again.

My wife and I just stopped by your bakery after lunch at Buck's. We bought a single cookie priced at $4.75, and we got charged a 6% "living wage surcharge" on top of CA state sales tax, so our cookie cost $5.51. I understand the rationale for the CA sales tax, but your surtax is deceitful and unethical. I applaud your desire to pay your help a living wage, but please raise your prices to reflect a living wage rather than add a sneaky additional tax without telling your customers in advance.

I called ahead to get a specific seat for what was an anniversary celebration. When I arrived it was already taken. I was ultimately able to switch out of the cold patio (need more heat lamps) to inside with the kind help of who I think was the manger. She was lovely (and who I spoke to earlier in the day to book my preferred table). She promptly took my order and was quite gracious. Our waiter seemed a bit distracted and detached from our table, however-once he ‘inherited' us. Our meal ended a bit abruptly around 8:30 when the waiter came to say we were only able to order from the dessert menu as the rest of the kitchen AND bar were closed. No warning prior. The end of the evening ended on a very flat note as a result.

One reviewer says this is overpriced mediocre food. I say this is shamefully overpriced mediocre food. A no frills Caesar salad with anchovies $22 x2 = $44, two coffees $12, mandatory service fee $12, ice cream $5, mandate fee $1.62. Everything said and done, lunch was about $80. Definitely not worth it and at these inflated prices I will not be a repeat customer.

Came to celebrate cousin anniversary at the restaurant. Pleasant surprise. Excellent food and wine great service. Quiet ambiance despite a good amount of patrons. The restaurant itself is in great woodsy settings.

Been here several times and have enjoyed the outdoor patio and salads. Today ordered the corned beef hash breakfast. It consisted of silvers of corned beef, potatoes, cabbage, watery juice, and one poached egg, disappointing and expensive $27. Also, had the fruit bowl which consisted of some apples, a few slivers of caramelized banana, and orange. Again small and disappointing, especially for 14 dollars. Service fee of 20% is included and service is good. Additional 2.75% SMC mandate.

Had a good experience until it came to the payment. While paying we were charged a 33% tip automatically??? We then approached a woman at the counter who made it clear that the automatic tip is 20%. We were not refunded any money and just ended up leaving after paying well over we expected. It was generally confusing and ruined the experience.

Our order: Roasted Beet and Citrus Salad, Endive & Spinach Salad, 9-Grain Loaf, Bakery Burger, Honey Roasted Cauliflower, Bronzino, Braised Short Rib, Chocolate Devil's Food Cake, Banana Cream Pie slice, Barrel Aged Negroni, Paper Plane, and Chardonnay . All the dishes were well prepared, presented and tasty. The highlights were the 9-Grain loaf and the Chocolate Devil's Food Cake. The roasted cauliflower was unique and good for our vegetarian diner. The service was friendly and attentive without being hovering.

Service is slow!!! Ordered special with poached egg and the egg was almost hard boiled. We requested outdoor seating and were seton the patio which is not outdoors. Ordered bloody mary not spicy, way too spicy. Considering the gratuity is included this is unacceptable for the cost of the meal. Not sure we'll be back. Bucks is a better deal.

It shouldn’t take 10 minutes when there’s only 3 people ahead of me. Slow service is ridiculous. I asked for the brown sugar scone and found out when I got home they gave me the cheddar and chive scone. I will not come back here.

We had a Saturday afternoon reservation for four because we wanted a late brunch. We waited 20 minutes to be seated. Unfortunately, there were three large parties- a bridal shower, baby shower and birthday. It was so noisy we couldn't hear each other talking without shouting. The restaurant has no sound baffling measures. Service was slow and intermittent, maybe because of the large groups. Food was tasty and ample in size but very expensive. Lunch without alcohol was nearly $40 per person. Outrageous for a sandwich and side salad. I doubt if we will be returning. UPDATE: Joe and I had a productive conversation and he sent me a very generous gift check as a consolation. I certainly will give the restaurant another chance. I appreciate the responsiveness to my concerns.
