It was my first time at Handel’s (I am normally a Bluescoop fiend) and didn’t know what flavors to try, Etai gave me a couple recommendations and I absolutely loved them, he based it off of my previous favorites from other parlors and hit it right on the mark. I will DEFINITELY be back to try more flavors. Might be my new favorite spot!

Placentia/YL has a triumvirate of solid handmade ice cream options, but Handel's takes the top spot for us!Though it's technically a chain of stores, this Handel's is comparatively good if not better than a couple other locations I've tried (Rancho and Pasadena). The texture of the ice cream here is more creamy and less 'icy' and they really do have an impressive array of flavor choices. Our current favorites are: Graham central station and Deep dish apple pie. We've tried several other flavors but always circle back to these two. With a convenient location and friendly service too- Handel's is a welcome addition to YL!

This is my all time favorite ice cream place. The flavors are excellent and on top of that their customer service is fantastic. Especially SJ is the best one in the team.

Sooo big!! A small is huge! Get the waffle cone, but you will have too much, so expect it to break. Get a spoon and a cup and enjoy some amazing homemade flavors. You can't go wrong. Try a few. I had the chocolate brownie and peanut butter. They are very cheery and helpful All together a great place to go for a sweet treat, but be ready to do some walking afterwards.

GET THE SAMPLER! I am a devout ice cream lover and I love all things chocolate, peanut butter, coffee, or delicious! Handel's makes it easy for everyone to find something they love. The best/worst part is they are always coming out with new flavors. This is great because there is always something new to try but it definitely makes it difficult to choose just one. The staff are always super helpful and patient when going through the menu with you. I came with my kids so we were all struggling to choose our flavors. Here is what I split with a friend: Sampler: Blue Cookie Monster: it was good, very sweet and vibrant, with chunks of Oreo and chips ahoy cookies Bananas foster: my favorite! It wasn't too sweet ands had chunks of real banana - DELICIOUS (sadly I think it's seasonal so if you see it on the board GET IT) Midnight Madness: SUPER RICH, very chocolatey, came with Oreo bits and peanut butter ripple. I don't think I could finish a whole scoop of just that but mixing it with the banana or the mocha was delicious! Mocha Almond Fudge Ripple: tried and true, coffee ice cream with almond chunks and fudge ripple. I love all things coffee so the ice cream flavor was strong which I liked but it could use more fudge ripple. They don't offer kids sizes but we got the small strawberry cone and my daughter loved it. My son was under 2 so he was able to get a baby cone which was just a little cone with a tiny scoop of vanilla - absolutely perfect for a picky baby who 50/50 will actually eat it. We sat right in front of the store window which was great. We'll definitely be back

I like my sweets and I enjoy my ice cream but not enough to know what's exceptionally good over another. I do enjoy that they have lactose free options and I love chocolate so their vegan chocolate one is great. A bit on the sweeter side compared to the normal chocolate ice cream though. If I want to roll the lactose dice I'll opt for the chocoholic chunk. My favorite though has got to be the mango sorbet, dairy free and tasty. Despite the long lines the service is quick. It helps that this is right across the street from us so we just ride our bikes here.

My god was the ice cream amazing I enjoyed every bit of the black cherry ice cream it was made perfect to my liking. What was key about this whole place was the customer service which was great. Ty who served me and greeted me was an amazing individual and honestly made the ice cream even better. Just the environment around this place was great but the thing to me that was the most important was my server who is Ty and made my day just because of his service.
Handel's is probably the best ice cream spot in the OC, and we've tried a lot of places! They have a wide array of flavors and service is always top notch. Lines can be long during the weekends but I think it's definitely worth it. Parking can be difficult when the plaza is super busy though!

The ice cream was so yummy! There were so many flavors to choose from and the workers were not judgmental or impatient with your indecisiveness. To eat afterwards, there's a really cool and pretty spot around the corner (along the wall of Handels) to eat with a beautiful nature environment. Although it might be kind of hard to choose from the flavors because they store it in tubs in the middle of the store that you can't see the ice cream itself, you can see the tubs and where the workers grab the ice cream from. It only adds a tiny bit of a struggle to choose but they have the flavor descriptions on their online menu so have fun!!

Handel's Ice Cream has nailed it with their Midnight Madness flavor. This flavor is perfection - rich, indulgent, and perfectly balanced between the dark chocolate and PB Oreos! Seriously: Keep it on the menu all the time. It's that good and definitely deserves a permanent spot! In short, cute atmosphere, fantastic service (everyone is always happy and helpful), and unbeatable ice cream flavors across the board. Try the 4 Scoop Sampler if you're indecisive!
