My family treated me for my birthday at Ad Hoc this past weekend, and it was fantastic. The Buttermilk fried chicken was incredibly moist and flavorful, with perfectly crispy skin. Even my picky eater approved! We also enjoyed the grilled pork chop, which had a tantalizing smoky flavor and paired beautifully with the horseradish cream sauce. The fried ricotta is an absolute must-have; it's irresistibly delicious. While the Pistachio Cake was good, it truly shined when paired with a cup of coffee. The servers provided excellent service from start to finish, making our experience truly enjoyable. We had a wonderful time.

First time here it was nice I had the fried chicken which it is delicious, juicy and very flavorful. The service wasn't bad. I had a great bartender. She knew her stuff. The ambience is casual- go check it out. Just don't take my word for it. you won't be disappointed.

Second visit for the take out fried chicken. There are several outdoor seats where you can eat.Very juicy and tender chicken, crunchy outer skin with rosemary and flaky salt and pepper seasonings.

The two hostesses working yesterday on 3/30 were very rude and unprofessional ! Especially the blonde one! They treated us as if we were a nuisance and not paying customers. Their fried chicken was juicy but kinda bland definitely not worth $44. The only reason why I gave them two stars is because of the beautiful garden in the back.

The chicken is too good! We went there for lunch and got the chicken as part of the bruch. It was finger licking good! amazing service with that!

I have heard so many rave reviews about Ad Hoc's chicken that I made a special drive out to Yountville to try this place for a birthday celebration! Starting off with the positives. Ad Hoc is a casual, friendly, little bit pricey spot. The restaurant itself was very cute and inside is a bustling but cozy atmosphere. A lot of families were there for Sunday brunch with small children (we kept our little one at home but good to know for the future!) The menu is prix fixe with additional menu items at an extra cost. The great thing about the additional menu items is the cost is not per person but for the table (at least for our party of two). Items are served family style and given the addition we opted in for we felt the portions were very filling. Service was good with our waiter being very friendly and someone else stopping by to offer to lower the blinds as our table was in a very bright spot. But let's get to the negative - I wasn't blown away by the food! The fried chicken everyone speaks so highly about was surprisingly dry and lacked flavor. The redeeming factor was that combined with gravy, maple syrup, and the waffle it made it a little bit tastier. However the star of the show - the fried chicken just didn't shine. The chicken's skin was thick and crunchy - but to the point the inside meat was dry and it lacked that nice little juice when you take a bite. In terms of flavor I couldn't get any hint of rosemary and overall can't imagine coming here for the chicken. We also ordered the additional corned beef hash. While the corned beef hash was tender this wasn't worth the addition for me - it wasn't memorable enough to come back for this dish. Dessert was a lemon and blueberry bread pudding. Simple and custardy end to a heavy meal but nothing out of the ordinary. Of the meal the most enjoyable part was the salad which had nice dollops of a soft cheese, fresh ingredients, and a light lemon dressing. Since it's a prix fixe menu maybe I just came on a bad menu day! I would return again with family members and try their dinner since service and atmosphere was nice.

Think twice about visiting Ad Hoc if you have significant food allergies. The restaurant was initially very accommodating for my gluten allergy but then brought me what seemed like a specially prepared gluten free dish that two separate servers assured me was gluten free before I ate some of it, asked again, and found out it actually included crostini made of regular bread. The restaurant was deeply apologetic for their mistake and comped my meal but that sort of mistake never should happen at such a nice establishment. Half a day later I am still very sick and figured I should leave a review to warn other guests with food allergies to be extra cautious at Ad Hoc.Dietary restrictions: Be cautious if you have a gluten allergy

Heard lots of hype about this place and well, it lives up to all of it. Enjoyed a lunch here with my partner and another couple. Service was friendly, food & drinks came out fast, and the vibes were immaculate. Bummed I didn't take a picture of the menu. Will definitely come again! Now onto the food.. Old Fashion - 4/5 - I don't remember the exact theme of this one, but you can't really go wrong. Had a unique citrus taste to it, and set-up my meal perfectly. Iceberg Wedge Salad - 5/5 - I really don't give salads a "5" but this is top tier. The lettuce was fresh, the bacon bits were plentiful, and the dressing had the right amount of salty creaminess and acidic vinegary-ness. There were leftover and I finished the plate for my party. Brussels Sprouts & Onions - 4/5 - Sautéed and bursting with flavor. They do vegetables right. Creamy Rice - 3/5 - This side dish had great flavor but was on the creamier side to really compliment the proteins in our meal. Flavor notes of garlic and chives. Pork - 4/5 - Juicy, flavorful, tender but melt in your mouth feel. There was a sweetness that balanced the saltiness, as it had an apple reduction sauce along with chopped apple bits on top. It was served hot and fresh, with the meat cooked almost medium. The pieces on the bone were the real treat, providing a fattier and succulent bite. I did not see the pink until looking closely at the last few straggling pieces no one picked up. Fried Chicken - 5/5 - This is what their known for, and they make some damn good friend chicken. Crispy skin with a nice salty and peppery flavor, very reminiscent of how my Filipino grandpa cooked his famous fried chicken back in the day. The chicken meat was juicy. All I needed was some white rice (lol). Chocolate Toffee Pudding - 5/5 - Generous portion served to each in their own ramekin. You can taste the homemade, from the whipped dollops of cream on top to the sweet dense flavor of the toffee chocolate. Reminded of a sophisticated pudding cup.

Olivia was a life saver, managing to get us a table at the end of service as a walk-in. Enjoyed everything from the service to the ever famous fried chicken!

The wife and I made a reservation, came inside to get immediately seated near the window. The staff were wonderful and very welcoming. It was pretty cold inside so make sure you bring a jacket. The menu was their famous fried chicken as the entree and then we added the crab sandwich. It's a set menu for the day listed in black text then you can do add ons with the price in red text. It's served as family style, each person pays a set price, the portions are large and can accommodate the bigger stomach folks. The iceberg lettuce with green goddess sauce was surprisingly flavor packed. The celery was pickled, it added a nice acidic contrast. Another favorite was the mashed potatoes, each bite had a delicious umami flavor with possibly a punch of tang from a lemon? I could not tell, nor could I stop eating it. The fried chicken was crunchy ~ almost like a double fry technique. The inside was juicy and savory. I ate 2 pieces before I tapped out because I was getting full and it was overwhelming to eat that much crunch. We ended with the olive oil cake that was good but I was already full to even eat my own slice. The whole experience was top notch, from the food to the staff, we enjoyed everything ad hoc had to offer!
