“We stopped in town for the night driving through. It was a busy Friday night but read they had good burgers so we decided to wait for a table. GREAT CHOICE! The service, from the time we walked into the door, put our name in, while we were waiting, our server was Fantastic!!!, and even the service as we were checking out was fabulous! Definitely makes you want to come back again! Wish we lived close, we would make this a regular stop!!”

“Terrible experience! Waited an hour for our food, only to receive mediocre bland food. During the hour food wait, our drinks were never refilled. When they finally offered refills with our meal, every drink was brought wrong and my husband didn’t even get his drink. Then they expected a gratuity for such ridiculous service. DO NOT GO HERE!”

“We stopped here on a road trip and ended getting an extra order To Go - yes, the green chile sauce is that good! Seeing tables of relaxed locals is always a good sign and this off-main-street spot delivers in the best way. Authentic flavors, well prepared and served in generous portions by friendly faces. The stuffed sopapilla was the rock star of our visit, but the asada tacos with homemade tortillas were a close second. Do NOT miss the salsa Verde!”

“We were immediately greeted upon entering and encouraged to select our table. A server appeared immediately to take a drink order. We ordered food when the drinks came. She had the chicken fried chicken and I had the mango habanero chicken sandwich. Both were excellent and arrived in a timely fashion.Service was efficient and kind. They're busy well past lunchtime. We always take this as a positive sign. Plenty of locals eat there. Family friendly. We didn't try the shakes or bubble tea... But it appears to be a specialty of theirs.Parking is right outside.Really enjoyed the service and food at a good value. The only very minor downside was the volume in the dining area when full. But as I said, busy usually means good things. Maybe some sort of sound absorbing wall finishings or art? It's a minor thing that wouldn't keep us from returning.”

“Wow! I ate lunch there today. A chicken burrito smothered with green chile pork and red chile pork sauce. With a bit of sourcream and guacamole. I have lived in the SLV since 1978 and I have NEVER had such an amazing Mexican meal. The sauces were savory with subtle hits of spices. I would call them gourmet...probably more like what you get in Mexico. I am REALLY impressed! Service was excellent. I wish you well in your new business. However our server was rude, she didn’t have a name tag so I didn’t catch it, she was young & very nice and soft spoken to the other tables tho. I’ve never experienced anything like this before so I was very conflicted with leaving a review, but my husband and I really enjoyed the food so I won’t let her ruin the review for the restaurant.”

“A hidden local gem and a must visit ice cream in Alamosa! The ice cream is absolutely delicious. It is intoxicating to watch them roll the ice cream and make it. Each one is art as well as an amazing snack. They also shared some samples freeze dry jolly rangers which are delicious! I recommend you grab a bag of those along with your ice cream. The owners and staff are delightful and wonderful people who love what they do and they do it so well. You just want to spend more time with them, and hear their stories as you eat their delicious treats. (And I'm not one that normally wants to talk to strangers!) My family stopped every night we were in town visiting Great Sand Dunes National Park. The owners (family owned) of the shop spent extra time giving us tips for the park before we went and our favorite spots it in the park ended up being recommendations from them rather than the park rangers. They also shared some really fascinating stories of the area and restaurant recommendations. When we returned to the shop they immediately recognized us, smiled and excitedly asked how are day was and what we thought of the park. It was like seeing friends after a long day. My brother's fiancé isn't one for eating dessert (especially right after dinner) but was the one who insisted said we must ask for doggie bags at our dinner place so we had time to get to frosty acres before they closed. If you only have time to grab one thing in Alamosa - Frosty Acres must be it!! Best spot we found in our entire week trip in Colorado!”

“Blackberry Fry Pie was tasty. It is basically a fruit turnover that has been glazed. It would pair well with coffee or tea.Mixed berry smoothie was very good. The creamy texture is based around the yogurt and almond milk. It was a small cup (priced appropriately), so if you can eat a lot get two. No pictures of the smoothie because I drank it too quickly.Dietary restrictions: Non dairy options in beverages and foods.Gluten free bagels.”

“The food was good. The menu was really basic. Our food took an hour and a half to come out with 4 tables in the dining room occupied. The kitchen is extremely slow. Don't waste your time coming here. The service was good but were limited in offering relief for the long wait. They could have at least offered something to help ease the pain of waiting forever. If things don't get better I can see another vacant restaurant space in the near future for the golf course.”

Thai House 525 Main St, Alamosa Thai • $$

“By FAR the best thai in Alamosa. The service is always great and the food is even better. The prices are really good in my opinion. $10-15 dollars per meal (depending on what protein you get) is a great price and we always have left overs. My son loves the Pad See Ew with chicken so we almost always get that. The Tom Kha soup is delicious and if you like spicy, make sure you get that. I almost always get the soup every time I go. The star of the show here in my opinion is any of the basil dishes, but especially the Basil Fried Rice. I get it at spicy level 3 and I love it. Great dish. Love this place! Their Pina Colada is also delicious. I have seen a lot of reviews with people getting saying they got sick here, but we've never had any issues. My husband typically gets sushi and the seafood options and I get both the chicken and beef in usually a noodle or rice dish and we've never once gotten sick (and we eat here usually at least once a week).”

“This is a commercial wholesale location. It is not a retail store or a restaurant. However there was a gentleman here who was kind enough to direct us to a local meat market in town that sells Fernandez chili products: Valley Meat Market at 808 West Ave, Alamosa, CO 81101. I've also found some of their spices at my local King Soopers near Denver.”
