My husband and I visited here last week and I am still dreaming of the food. It was simply sensational from start to finish. We were greeted by the chef who asked us what we liked and designed a menu for us. The flavours of each dish were exceptional. It is a must visit if you are in Almancil and we cannot wait to return.

Food and service are exceptional great value for money. Staff are attentive and welcoming and will explain every dish. Don’t be put off by the location! This is a rose amongst the thorns.

This was the best Indian I’ve ever had, it put previous Indian meals I’ve had to shame, absolutely amazing meal, experience and hospitality.

The best Indian cuisine we have ever experienced. Attentive personable service from the Head Chef and his staff, which was also quite educational. We will be back when we next visit the area. If you love Indian Cuisine you must book here you will not regret it!

We really know and love our Indian food and this was right up there as one of the best; if I could give it 6 stars I would!!! Amazing flavours and service, including the outstanding Chef Narayam who came to our table several times during the meal to tailor our menu according to our personal preferences. The waiters added in a couple of starters as per their own favourites and this added to the whole experience as it got us to try new dishes we wouldn’t have otherwise (what they recommended was amongst the best we ordered). Almost didn’t write this review because I got a booking quite easily and suspect it won’t stay this way for long as the restaurant becomes more known.

Family of five and a baby.We were made to feel welcome straight away. After pondering over the menu's, the lovely owner came over to suggest starters & mains to us. We went along with his recommendations and we weren't disappointed. I've never tasted food like this before .The flavours are out of this world . Everything was so tasty. It was explained to us about every dish and the stories behind them and the regions of India they were from. If you want more than a meal , and you want a proper foodie experience...... then this is your place. 10 out of 10 . Proper authentic cooking , with attentive staff , making this a meal with a difference. I would highly recommend it to anyone reading this. Go try it , you won't be disappointed. We definitely left Happy ?

When we arrived we were greeted by a lovely staff member who gave us some mango lassi. The chef created us, he was a lovely chap, explaining that the food will be from all over India. I have been to many Indians in london including dishoom etc. this was outstanding, the lamb, chicken and prawn curry’s were outstanding with a great long spice. The chef was obviously passionate and I really would recommend coming here. The best curry I’ve ever had. Enjoy x

This is definitely the No1 Indian Restaurant we've ever visited. Amazing food and even better service. We'll be back! Thank you

Outstanding food. Genuinely excellent Indian food, far better than the standard stuff in most UK restaurants. The service was also excellent. We ordered to collect and takeaway, but I called the Vilamoura number not the Almancil one - stupid of me, don’t just call the first one Google throws up - and when I arrived it came to light my takeaway was at the other restaurant. Without hesitation, the manager said they’d make my order there immediately. No extra charge. Within 15 minutes it was ready. Superb service and superb food.

We enjoyed a fabulous evening at United kitchens of India. The restaurant has only been open for just over a year, but it is a great addition to the area, and it’s definitely going on our list of must visit places when we stay in the Quinta do lago area. The food is authentic Indian cuisine. Don’t expect the usual chicken tikka masala. This is the real deal! We went with head chef/owner Narayan’s suggestions so got to taste a variety of new flavours and dishes from all over India, which was such a treat. 10/10 for outstanding food, great service and charming staff. We will most definitely be back.

As a Glaswegian with an Indian father, I thought I knew a bit about Indian food. However, the UKI and it’s chef-patron Narayan serve up a fantastic culinary experience second to none. We entrusted our order to him and were not disappointed. My children were soon devouring fried spinach with a tamarind and yoghurt sauce (think Indian nachos) and other dishes none of us had tasted before. Dining on a Wednesday, the Almancil restaurant wasn’t packed so it was a shame that the atmosphere was a little subdued. Apparently previous unrelated restaurants at the address had failed but I’m sure as word of mouth prevails, this restaurant will become as popular as those QDL stalwarts close by. Curry is the most popular food in the UK and maybe Brits get too used to the same thing and forget we didn’t invent it so if you want to try something authentic and different, give this a try. It’s reasonably priced, the service is very attentive and you won’t regret it!

This is a culinary trip throughout India, by a massively knowledgeable and highly talented team. This is the very highest quality food and very affordable prices. The head chef has a wealth of knowledge about the origins of the food, the reasons why certain food in eaten in specific regions and the history/culture behind food types. It was fascinating and massively added to our enjoyment.

If you really, really love a great curry, and perhaps your family aren't so keen, then bring them here. It's not the traditional UK or Irish curry experience. This is flavours, tastes and wow. The kids were eating cauliflower! Spinach leaves in flour that they thought were amazing nachos. Asking for more! Healthy. But great fun. With a chef that will listen to preferences (and fears) and come up with dishes to suit. Amazing.

What a discovery, I’m almost lost for words. We love Indian food but have never experienced anything like this. So varied and diverse, and a menu unlike anything I’ve seen. The staff were amazing and and attentive and there were so many interesting stories and anecdotes about the basis of Indian cooking, it was educational as well as a dining delight. Thank you to all there who made it an unforgettable experience and one that will be repeated next week as we journey further into authentic Indian cuisine.
