A Spice of Life has been a premiere caterer for the Boulder County area for many years for a reason. David Ruben and his team have such attention to detail and their execution was amazing. We had a construction themed event and they fully tied into the decor with tool boxes, safety cones, and bricks! The food was delicious and has been different every time we work with them to keep the event fresh. We love a Spice of Life!

Sena, our event specialist took time to do a walkthrough of the venue, help with meal and service selection, and stay in touch with the last minute change for numbers served.Not only was the food exceptionally good, the presentation of the buffet and the service the team provided was excellent. It all added a level of professionalism to our nonprofit luncheon fundraiser. We appreciated all that they did so much including cleaning up, and running the dishes & glassware through the dishwasher & unloading it.

I would like to acknowledge A Spice of Life for two things: their generosity and quality of food. First, they delivered a Thanksgiving meal (and I mean like 12 things) for my daughter and son-in-law (he recently had his foot amputated from a motorcycle accident). What a blessing they were to them and us! Second, the food was spectacular! The turkey, mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes, rolls, everything…but especially the gravy! Best I have ever had (sorry, Mom). Really really impressed with this company. Kudo’s!

Day of their team was super flexible and accommodating with the flow of the day. The food was fantastic, fresh and loved by guests. The couple was very happy with the service! Their bartending and cake cutting services were so helpful & well done. Their staff were really great to work with and a genuinely great group of people. There were great response times pre and post planning as well. Would recommend!!

We loved the food from ASOL! It was delicious and the presentation was great, and they handled everything really smoothly. I honestly didn't even notice half of what they did, they were so smooth and unobtrusive. They were also responsive to some of the requests we had after our tasting, so our menu was just what we wanted. Our initial event manager left a couple months before our wedding, but Sena picked up where she left off without any issues and we had a great experience with her and her team!

The overall experience in one word when dealing with our coordinator was frustrating. It was difficult to get straight answers from her or get anything handled ahead of time. Our choice of rentals was forwarded along but with a week before our wedding we were informed they aren’t available in the sizes we need, sure availability isn’t on the coordinator, however this information could and should have been known prior to a week before the wedding. Several times we requested menu changes for our plates items (since our initial tasting) and were assured the change would be made; day of our guest were served plates we made clear we didn’t want on the menu. And holy cow the hidden fees! We got our “final numbers” at our walkthrough when payment was requested at it was more than $1000 than anticipated. When we asked to see the totals itemized what they gave us did not add up, it took nearly another week to have accurate totals and itemization to us. Day of came and the staff was great! We encouraged dress up for the themed event and our coordinator ensured us that staff was excited for this and she was sharing the information. It never happened which is okay but the service staff had no idea about the information and were bummed to have not dressed up! If it’s against policy or whatever that’s fine but don’t lie. Other than having plates we didn’t want, it took nearly an hour for entrees to arrive cold after salads at a venue they are very familiar with. Nearly a quarter of my guests, parents with hungry kiddos, left before plated entrées arrived. It didn’t run smoothly at all, we were not informed of any hang ups, I didn’t see my coordinator at all day off, and it threw our timing off for the rest of the evening.One pro, chef makes some amazing combinations… they’re just served better warm. Only reason we gave more than one star.
