Its a shame this store is so close to me because it is absolutely awful. Lane three was lit like it was open but no one was there. Customers were stacked up, and when someone did finally come over she blamed people for lining up when the lane was closed. When I checked out in a different lane, the cashier asked if I wanted her to bag my items. I said we can both do it which she must have misheard. What it seems she heard was "no, please stand there watching while I bag everything myself." The savings app is a hot mess and gets less and less user-friendly each time they update it. I half believe they are deliberately trying to make it difficult so people pay full price. I have been driving half-way across town to King Soopers where I feel valued, but I didn't want to make that drive in the snow. Lesson learned. Again.

This was once a pretty nice store and at one time my neighbourhood store. It was once beautiful and it had the best team of employees. Now, shelvesare half empty OFTEN and the produce section often is awful. The BIGGEST PROBLEM is the PHARMACY!THIS was so badly run, the pharmacy hardly ever answered the phone! Look, stores have good years and bad years. It is the management that is to blame.Something needs to be done at this store to save it. My bad experience happened May of 2023, at the pharmacy. I hope it's gotten better but I pulled my prescriptions out and transferred to another pharmacy. It was a really bad situation. I hope they fixed it but it went on too long and I quit after going there for 24 yrs! Yes, it was that bad.

I do it to myself. I continue to shop at this store only because it's so convenient. That's the ONLY reason. The employees that have been there too long let customers know it. Today I purchased two bags of whole wheat flour and one of all-purpose flour. These were advertised as a special and placed at the end of an isle. The checkout person was happily gabbing away with the person before me. When my turn to checkout came the cashier said to the bagger, another old timer, "Here we go with the flour." C'mon. I'm baking at home not hoarding. What was this? They have newer employees, but the old guard's dour attitude and lack of congeniality is apparently contagious.

This location is nearby 157. This is one of the smaller Safeways I've shopped at, and they seem shorthanded. The produce and meat section is smaller than I would like. There are a few other stores , UPS, and restaurants in the plaza, so it can be convenient to multi-task. Definitely sign up for membership as prices are significantly different otherwise.

Worst shopping experience in my 62 years. The place seriously lacks in organic selections, although the north Boulder store has plenty. How can the pita chips not be stocked on the chip aisle, but on the other side of the store? The cashiers are constantly bitching about their jobs and the function of the checkout stands. Employees are unhappy. And yes, you should definitely hassle me about a .10 bag after running out of my own bags after spending $152.I won't be back, always disliked Safeway anyway.

This is a Covid update, but for recent shopping. I did try a couple of times last year but even when I tried delivery back when I needed delivery, the "shoppers" at that time were buying randomly at other Safeway's in the area and then just delivering from there for some reason. I did not always get what I wanted even though this store's website had posted as available. And one product from a different store further away was stale and very late in the sell by date. If I want a Safeway, this is the one in the area I like best. Not particularly near where I live, but easy to get to and ample safe parking. Since Boulder is currently short a major grocery that is delayed in reopening their damaged store, and having supply issues at their other convenient location, I thought to try this Safeway. I am glad I did. We were driving to a destination in the area and ran in for a few items, out of stock elsewhere in town. They had all of it! We were happy to find a nice fresh supply and bought several. Not crowded and easy to check out and well staffed and clean. All important factors for me. I don't go here a lot but I should always remember to try them.

The newest thing at this POS store is that they can't afford to fix their point-of-sale card-readers so that they take your money! I have to try multiple times to get the things to work EVERY TIME, and it's NOT something wrong with the chip in my card like the checkers try to claim that it is. MANY of their customers have the same problem, and the brain-dead, worthless management people won't do a THING about it! It's been like that for months! What kind of store intentionally continues to make it hard for their customer's to pay them their money? That's nuts!!It's absolutely amazing that that place can even afford to pay the electric bills, let alone do anything else - like keep the doors open - and it shows in their surly, incompetent employees, too. That's just SO typical of so many of the half-a**ed businesses in this town.

Worst store ever, never again even though right around the corner! I will suggest alternatives for everyone in my area! Boycott sago& and Albertsons! Never again! Support Whole Foods, much better policy! Safeway steals!

Available choices for lunch are minimal and barely appetizing. They got rid of the soup selection. Totally ripped off today by a half-full yogurt parfait in the produce section. The only have four self-checkout machines, one of which is almost always not working.
