Searched it out while visiting. Food was okay. Character, and loud. Food came fast. Waitress was distracted, and not very attentive, even though not crowded. Separated road can make access a challenge. Parking was tight, but circulated well. Not as good as Pete’s Kitchen in Denver, especially on service.

This place is a local favorite for good reason. The service is fast, efficient, and friendly, the food is great and served in plentiful portions, the prices are very reasonable (especially for Boulder) and you always feel at home even though it’s usually crowded and loud.Parking: At peak times, there aren’t usually spots available in the lot and you have to instead park on the street. Often, it’s necessary to park a block away. At off-peak times, parking isn’t an issue.

Excellent tiny diner hiding in a strip mall. Plenty of regulars squeezed together enjoying a very reasonably priced breakfast. Superb service from a surprisingly large staff. Looking forward to a return visit next time I'm in Boulder.

I came in to this coffee shop with my friends a few weeks ago and needless to say it was a wonderful experience! The kind wait staff accommodated my party that was too big for their dining room and sat us outside which was perfect! I loved the food and it made for a very memorable breakfast!Dietary restrictions: Phenomenal with dairy allergies

Great brunch place with a classic menu. They have kept the prices reasonable. The service is quick, and the atmosphere is cozy. One of my favorite brunch places in Boulder.

On a cold day in January, the vibes were high in this establishment. Went in after skiing, ordered a breakfast burrito and pancakes .The burrito was the size of my forearm and the pancakes were as fluffy as a cloud.

I can't believe it's taken so long for this review! Sorry, this will be a long review. While working in Boulder for 25 years, we would visit every week! Now, I work in Denver, but still manage to get up there and enjoy my favorite restaurant in the entire Denver-metro area! Nestled next to the University of Colorado campus, the Village Coffee Shop sits in a small strip mall on the west side of Folsom. CU students know this place well--it's a rite of passage to eat here! Entree: - Smothered Egg Breakfast Burrito ($8.50). I've eaten almost everything on their menu, and they're all fantastic! Yet, this Burrito is so unique in flavor, and so filling! The Green Chile is mild (for those concerned about spiciness), and it's hearty, flavorful, and compliments the Burrito so well! The Hashed Browns are perfect. Crunchy, toasted brown with a moist interior. I asked their Chef how they made them--and he gave me the secret to cooking their hashed browns. It's the oil they use! Shhh! Meal includes toast, and you definitely get a great meal and a fantastic price! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! Drink: - Milk ($1.50). This isn't your milk from a carton! This is milk from those large bladders they put into a refrigerated stainless steel dispenser--like you get at an old-fashioned Soda Fountain/Malt Shoppes! Just order it! You won't regret it! Service: Always greet you with a smile, take your order fast, and deliver your food quickly. They recognize students and professionals have short meal breaks, so they take care of you! Ambiance: The walls are decorated with paintings from "Grandpa" and CU memorabilia. It's eclectic and simple. Overall: If I could give 10 stars, this would be the ONLY restaurant that would earn those stars. Yes, it's that good! Plus, if you've never been, be sure to tell them it's your first time! They will give you a special welcome!! Now, go get visit them!

This is a tough one to write, as I’ve been going to the Village Coffee Shop for decades (certainly not a regular, but went a couple of times a year). First, I really like the owners and yes, we’ve had a few salty servers over the years, but overall no issues here. Great folks run this place.I went in for a quick breakfast yesterday. I was early enough to score a 2 person booth without a wait. I ordered my regular: pancake, hash browns, crispy bacon and fried eggs. Their food has always been on the slightly oily/greasy side - but it’s a classic diner, that’s part of the charm. I’ve never had an issue with it. Yesterday was different. The hash browns were completely saturated will yellow colored oil. Most of the hash browns were too crispy to eat, except for the small soggy portion in the middle (bright yellow colored from the oil). The pancake was saturated in oil. Like really oily - think oozing out as you cut into it. I still love their syrup though. The bacon was crispy (thank you) but didn’t have a good taste/flavor.I took the leftovers home to my wife, as she loves the Village too. She came to the same conclusion. Time marches on I suppose. Unfortunately, I realized that yesterday was the end of an era for me. There are just other places I’d rather go. Everyone has to try the Village Coffee Shop at least once so you’re no longer a “Village Virgin.”

? And I said…gravvvvvy you’re gonna be the one that saves meeee?Ahhhh The Village Coffee Shop ??? Hands down, the best diner in Boulder! If you are wishing for an upscale experience, this is not for you and that’s okay. If you want a top notch diner experience with great food and even better staff this is where you need to find yourself! The Village is small, it is packed, it is rambunctious, and it’s AWESOME! It is everything Boulder used to be and keeps the “Keep Boulder Weird” vibe very much alive. There is a reason why the line is out the door daily!Snuggle into a both with your loved ones/favorite homies and make some memories. Or grab a seat at the counter and watch these hash brown ninjas do their thing! The portions are HUGE and shareable. This is simplicity at its finest. This is a can’t miss experience in Boulder.1000/10 will be back again, again, and again. THANK YOU Village Coffee Shop for keeping our bellies full and our hearts happy!
