Let me preface I spend most my time going out of my way to write good reviews for spots I visit and never the bad. That being said, I just cannot express enough while I normally do not think twice about spending 40$ on whatever catches my eye, the two drinks I bought here were the my worst spent 40 dollars in a long time. I've been to absinthe bars in Europe, primarily my visits to Prague, and I always love the experience and unique concoctions you get and was looking forward to trying this place out when I saw the sign. I kept my expectations metered since this is an absinthe bar in a small mountain town in Colorado but I have to agree with a lot of the other negative comments I have since read. Agreeing with the other reviews, the inside is run down and sparsely decorated. What they do have looks like they got from free offerings on the side of the road. The staff almost seemed bothered to turn away from their friends to serve other customers so it took an extended time to get attention to get a drink order in, not to mention the making of the drinks took forever. When our drinks were finally brought to us the bartender was nice, but mentioned they didn't have some Ingredients that were needed for the drink so he winged it. (Not something you should hear when you're spending 20$ on a specific drink). Overall, this is quite literally the last place in Breck I will return to. I think they have a niche brand they could do a lot with, but unfortunately they have really missed the bar.

"2am bar." 10pm on a Thursday night, "Hey guys we're closed." Cool.

Walked in @10pm and the server said they were closed, door sign says open until 2am everyday. Very disappointing.

Google says they're open until 2am every day. Yelp says they're open until 2am every day. THEIR DOOR'S SIGNAGE says they're open until 2am every day. We walk in at 10pm on a Thursday night "Hey guys we're closed." No explanation, no tact. Cool.

Absinthe bar is a small jem tucked into the main strip. The bartender was attentive and pleasant to everyone. We had an absinthe espresso martini and a Jade absinthe.

Drinks here are expensive and not that amazing, to be honest. They're just generic "absinthe" drinks that feel taken out from an all inclusive resort from México. The only thing that made us stay here was the long wait to another restaurant and the cold weather.2/5

This was our first time entering and Absinthe Bar - when you enter you will go down a dark wooden stairwell. The bar has a casual - low key - moody vibe. The drink master was very helpful and helped us a pick a drink that was amazing! I had the Herbsainte and the anise flavor was forward and wonderful.

I stumbled into this place after seeing a cute little sign for an absinthe bar in the basement of a restaurant. It should have been opened earlier but the owner of the restaurant said the manager got caught in weather and would be a little late to open. However, he was happy to accommodate us in the restaurant and serve any of the absinthe bar menu. The drinks were pricey but its about the show. After a bit of help picking out what to order I ended up with a peppermint drink and my husband had a classic anise flavored one. If you've never had an absinthe drink its about the process. You have a water tap that drinks ice water directly into your drink. Then a sugar cube is lit on fire on a slotted spoon type utensil and causes the sugar to carnalized and fall into your drink. Then you can add as much water as needed to dilute your drink to taste. Would recommend the experience!

Pretty interesting spot. Never had absinthe the proper way. They serve beer, wine, cocktail, and food as well so don't let the name fool you.It is overpriced and it is a tourist trap, but there are a few locals as well. There is a dart board as well. Use cautiously ?

Great little spot on Main St. Grace was awesome! Drinks are pricey for Breck.

Stopped in with a buddy last week. First time drinking absinthe, the bartender Grace was super knowledgeable and explained firmly but fairly that if I insisted on drinking until I hallucinate I’d likely just pass out from the alcohol.

An amazing place to forget the cold, great drinks and awesome bartenders. Try their in-house shots. Grace, the bartender, is good company.

This place was a pleasant surprise at the end of a meal, actually. The first time amy of us had absinthe in a way absinthe was supposed to be experienced. They were pretty bare for being just before ski season starts, but is slowly filled in the later the night moved on.They got a nice selection of a few cocktails as well, for those not brave enough to try it straight... I was not brave enough to try it straight. There is a strong licorice flavored note to absinthe. So, if that's not your jam, you may not enjoy the bar. Otherwise, very intimate little shindig.Props to Grace for helping us through that whole night.

Stopped in to try absinthe the right way with a louche for the first time. Did not plan on staying long, but the bartender, Grace, was extremely friendly, & knowledgeable, & managed to keep me around for a couple drinks after that! Really enjoyed myself & would recommend stopping in.
