We truly had the most amazing experience here. We came here for our engagement dinner and everything exceeded our expectations. Our waitress was amazing and took photos for us. The food was excellent. The views are incredible, it is so welcoming here, elk tacos were fantastic! I could go on and on. I hope we will be lucky enough to make it back.

We were a walkin tonight and sat in the bar area tonight. We were ignored and felt like we were bothering the staff for asking for anything. Each time i needed a water, to order, or the check i had to flag someone down. When i asked for a discount for being ignored for an hour (how long it took to get our food) the bartender got defensive and argumentative and telling me "you were not ignored" . He kept making all these excuses about how busy they were with other tables. All he did was escalate the situation and not once try to diffuse it. I left extremely upset . I've never had wait staff argue and escalate things like he did! I told him he could have apologized or offered and appetizers for my wait but he kept arguing with me. The bartender is a complete jerk.

We arrived at 7, which was unfortunately a little late to enjoy the views from the restaurant. But the interior was lovely, the hotel lobby you walk through fits a fine western establishment - lots of wood and stone fireplaces - and the staff was extremely friendly. The restaurant itself was very quiet, with only one other table seated while we were there. I expected it to be more crowded, with the Wednesday deal of burger and a beer for $20 - and perhaps it was earlier, but Breck is a fairly early town, especially away from Main Street. Started with the elk tacos which were outstanding, the burger was good, tho the bottom bun got soggy fast. The staff was the standout - very friendly, helpful, attentive. They gave me a birthday dessert (turned into an after-dinner drink) since Open Table told them it'd been less than a week. I'd definitely go back for the Wednesday special again, but on any other day I'd try the elk steak. The elk in the tacos was extremely tender and flavorful, I'd like to see how the star of the show compares.
Drove up from Denver for dinner with our son. Arrived at 7:30pm for an 8pm reservation. No hostess to greet us although a sign said "please wait to be seated or grab a seat in the bar". Since we didn't get seated until 8:15. we had a drink each while we waited. 2 of the 3 drinks were incorrect. Settled bar tab and saw an automatic 20% service fee tagged on to the tab. Once seated, we waited nearly 30 minutes and never had a server even stop by our table. No menus, no water, not even an acknowledgement we were there. After 30 minutes we left. No idea if food is good or not. Will never return.

Our server only checked on us 2 times the entire 1 hour and 45 minutes we were there. He had about 3-4 tables. I asked for a cup of soup for an appetizer and it never got brought out to me and when our food came another guy came up asking if we had ordered soup and I told him to cancel it because at this point we already got our food. Our server only came by 1 other time to refill our waters and I had to ask him. Then we asked our server for to go boxes and he took about 15 min to get those to us and he didn't even bring them we had to ask another person and she brought them to us. Then we it came time to pay the bill my husband had cash/big bills and it took him about another 15 minutes to get the change for us. Overall wasn't really satisfied with the service we got but the food was great. Our sever seemed more concerned about the table behind us than he was with anyone else.

Incredible views if you're there while the sun is still up. Good quality meat options on the menu. We had multiple elk, filet, and a ribeye dish that were all spectacular and cooked to our liking! Will definitely be back!

The food scene in the Breck area is hard to compete in. I think Traverse is a solidly “OK” option and would recommend them for a reasonably good meal in a place with kind service and a potentially great view (in the daytime). We had a couple of appetizers, with the standout being the Brussels sprouts. The ceviche was fresh but very bland. We also had a couple of drinks, which were average (wish I’d just gotten wine). Then, we had the burger with fries and a pesto ravioli. Both were perfectly fine, but not overly memorable. The service was great, though, even though they were busy. We both agreed we wouldn’t mind coming back to try their happy hour after a good bike ride, but probably wouldn’t do dinner there again.

Used to frequent this place. Something has changed here. Quality of food and service has decreased noticeably. The airline chicken sucked. Used to be much better.Guessing there is new mgmt. and they figured we got the location and view, why bother with quality food; as long as its edible.

Family friendly and comfortable surroundings. Nice update of traditional dishes. The calamari was so tasty! Our server, Miles, was knowledgeable and friendly. Had awesome timing though busy and was indeed professional.

We had a great experience at Traverse. An excellent location that allows an awesome view of the mountains, a cozy dining room and bar area and just a super atmosphere. Our waitress Ashley is very friendly and personable and made some excellent recommendations for drinks and dinner. We highly recommend Traverse and we will definitely be back!
