We booked The Gourmet Kitchen Catering or Roots Catering for our wedding this past September. While the food was good the experience overall was really poor, from the initial booking all the way through the execution on day of.Professionalism, communication, lack of coordination.Pros- The food is honestly great. Had great feedback about the taste from everyone at the event.Cons- Service staff was rushing guests, removing plates and drinks prior to completing their meal or beverage. They missed important details like the special wine we brought for our dinner, hey did not bring any ice out to the outdoor bar and were just serving cocktails with no ice (even though we had 8 unused bags the next day). Reports from the Day of Coordinator said that staff was difficult to work with and lacked attention to detail.- Admin. We worked with over 5 people throughout the planning process. Each person seemed to be promising different things and there was no communication between any of them. With each person we had to completely reexplain our vision for the day. They were incredibly slow to respond to emails as well. It was challenging to get contracts from them and they always required massive amounts of edits. Overall the customer experience and attention to detail was just awful. They constantly needed to reschedule or missed meetings, they were 30 minutes late to our final walkthrough.I understand staffing issues and there are things you cannot control but what can be controlled is the response to difficult situations and this business reacted very poorly. When you're planning a wedding the last thing you want to do is chase around a vendor and it was clear that as a customer you feel any hiccup in their business. Would not recommend this business to others!

We booked TGK for our wedding over the summer. I just found out that the people serving were calling the paneer curry "tofu paneer" so none of my family ate it. It's very frustrating to pay so much to not have anyone eat it because of inaccuracy. I knew not to feed our guests tofu. Also, there are allergies to consider, so it's just unacceptable to me. Why weren't there signs/labels that were accurate? Our experience before the wedding wasn't that great either. The communication was poor/just not there. I had to email several times over months just to get a response. We weren't able to taste what we were told we'd be able to. Our day off coordinator liked them though.

Delicious and plentiful food. Easy to work with, great communication. Our buffet was vegetarian/vegan and there were no issues or qualms with setting it up. The servers and staff at the wedding were so friendly. Highly recommend.

Dining here was such a treat. I tried out their restaurant then hired them for catering. Chef Madhoo made the best food I've had in Denver (I'm from San Francisco) and it was made with so much care. I can see why the bread pudding is famous. Great service staff and they're so kind and flexible. Truly fantastic.

This is hard for me to write since the service staff and the food were both excellent. However, I feel that this company is handled unethically and unprofessionally and I wouldn’t use them again. I had hired TGK to cater my wedding on 9/25. We signed a contract with them in January. Between January and September, they lost their business manager and we had to work directly with the owner. The coordination leading up to the wedding was poor and no one had contacted us until WE finally reached out to them less than 30 days before the event to make sure we were still set. It just felt like a major inconvenience for them. Two weeks before the wedding, the owner sent us back a revised contract which ended up being 13% more than the original contract for less people. I questioned why the cost has gone up and at first she wouldn’t admit to why, but finally stated it was because she added an 11% sustainability fee to her services so she could pay her staff more and cover insurance. While this is great in theory, adding this amount on so close to the wedding, which was not agreed to in the original contract, felt shady. There was no communication about her doing so and they tried to sneak it in. But what can you do at that point? It was too late to find a new caterer, so we were taken hostage. A feeling no bride wants to feel two weeks before her wedding. And to answer the inevitable question, no there was nothing in the contract that stated they could change their prices. The other 2% was random miscellaneous increases here and there. Overall, I am highly disappointed with my experience with TGK and I hope other brides can avoid the same stress that we went through.

We had The Gourmet Kitchen cater our wedding this past weekend and they did a fantastic job from start to finish! The staff was very professional and we received many compliments on the food throughout the evening. I especially appreciate how thorough Madhoo and Kristen were during our walk-through prior to the event. They really paid attention to every detail and helped us put together a wedding timeline that fit all of our needs. If you’re looking for a true full-service caterer, I absolutely recommend The Gourmet Kitchen!

The Gourmet Kitchen Catering recently catered for my Son’s wedding at the Boetcher Mansion. They did an excellent job and many of the guests said it was the best Indian food they had tasted. From the appetizers to the dinner everything was A+

Madhoo & entire staff are so pleasant and helpful! Not only is the food absolutely delicious; the property is lovely and you know The Gourmet Kitchen really takes pride in their work. As others have mentioned ~ Madhoo graciously customizes to your group. She helped me last minute to fulfill feeding a video crew ~ and served hot meals in to go boxes so we could enjoy safely spread apart on the exterior lawn. The crew was so thankful for the wonderful fresh hot meal! Everyone commented how tasty & fresh items were & all were very satisfied! Major cudos to everyone at The Gourmet Kitchen ~ I highly recommend them for any kind of meal or catering ~ you will certainly keep coming back!

Our worst nightmare became a reality with Gourmet Kitchen. I am saddened to write this review but this has to be put out there and if we can save one couple from going through what we went through, it will be worth it.My wife and I started planning our wedding last year in 2019 and our wedding was set for August of 2020. We initially approached Gourmet Kitchen to start our planning for our food and everything was going just fine, the communication was good and they would respond within a day at the latest if we had any questions. Then, fast forward to March of 2020. Due to COVID19, our wedding plans changed drastically and we were forced to down size our wedding to a very intimate and small wedding at our home with only 20 people. We contacted Gourmet Kitchen and told them this and they told us that they don’t do any refunds and the first payment we paid for our food ($1800) was going to be only allowed as credit with their company. (Our entire bill was roughly $14,000). We were totally okay with this and we agreed to have Gourmet Kitchen cater at our home for the 20 people we had.As we got closer to our wedding, I emailed multiple times with no response back. We continuously tried reaching them via phone and no one would answer us and they never returned our calls. After two weeks of no communication I finally emailed Vipul and told him I would get an attorney involved because they were not responding back to us to fulfill our food. After that, Vipul immediately responded and said he would get back to us that evening. (He never did). We then reached out to them again and we got no reply back for over a week.. after 7 days, I reached out again asking if they were going to be able to fulfill our order because we were one week out from our wedding and we were extremely nervous because we had no firm answer. When we were ordering our food for our original wedding (pre-COVID) they were responding very quickly and once we told them our original wedding plans were cancelled, they completely gave us the cold shoulder and were not very happy that they were only going to be charging us $1,800 instead of the full $14,000. Vipul replied to me and said that they were no longer offering the menu that we were looking at originally and he said we could only order from their ROOTS restaurant and he sent us a menu to look at.We agreed to this option as we had no other choice. We never tasted the food from the new menu. That evening my wife and I picked all of the food that we wanted to order and I sent Vipul our order with exact pricing copied from their menu.Next day, Vipul said they received our order and he sent us an invoice. The pricing for EACH entree was increased by roughly $5 compared to the menu he sent us the night before and when I asked him about this he said “I’m sorry you didn’t have the newest menu”. (He sent us the menu the night before) Though we were extremely upset, we still agreed and we ordered 50 entrees for our wedding. On our wedding day, Gourmet Kitchens delivery driver showed up to our house with no mask and HE PULLED OUT 5 ENTREES ONLY!!!! I asked him where the other 45 meals were and he said this was our entire order!!! We had a room full of people who were hungry and the delivery driver said that this was our entire order! We were 45 entrees short and it was extremely embarrassing as our guests had no food to eat. We then tried calling the owner Vipul multiple times with no answer. He finally called us back after waiting 25 minutes and he said he was extremely sorry that they messed up our order and if we waited three hours he would deliver the food.. more than half our guests we’re leaving within three hours and we told him this would not work for us.The food was extremely terrible and ice cold. I have attached a photo to this review of the food that was delivered to our house for $1,800!!We got our $1,800 refunded after they were only able to deliver five meals to our house and they said sorry to us and by sending a 5 inch cake to our house as an apology.

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY FOR CATERING YOUR EVENT. I CANNOT TELL YOU IN WORDS HOW HORRIFIC THIS EXPERIENCE WAS AND OUR ENTIRE WEDDING WAS LEFT WITH NO FOOD.

Madhoo put together a beautiful gift basket with lots of delicious goodies for a vegetarian friend of mine. Her suggestions were excellent and the basket was a great success!

We love working with Madhoo, Vipul and their team! Their food is absolutely superb, and delicious. They are flexible and work with their couples on pricing and matching a menu to what the couple wants and is looking for. They have been so responsive to all our clients and so flexible. They make delicious Mexican, American, Italian and Indian food and always go above and beyond for each couple. A must hire!
