Prices are high. Ordered an Old Fashion the cherry was missing and they used crushed ice... also the bathrooms are dirty and bartenders are rude.

My husband and I have been regulars at whistling hare for years. We would come in once or twice a week. We would meet up with all the other regulars. At any given time there would be at least one regular there. It was basically like Cheers.This place was special. This place was special, not because of the drinks or alcohol, but because of the people. And in particular, Makeda the bartender made this place what it was. She made it a fun, happy, amazing environment to meet up with friends and unwind for the week. We didn't go there for the drinks, we went there to see her.Unfortunately, it doesn't seem like Makeda's talent was appreciated and she decided to move on. Saturday was her last day. Which means Saturday was our last day as well. Most of the regulars feel this way. It's a sad day. This place changed our lives. We met some of the most amazing people there. My husband proposed to me there. This place will forever hold a special place in my heart. The people will remain my friends, but whistling hare is now just a memory. I do not believe this business has really ever treated its employees with the respect they deserve. The bartender before Makeda was also forced out after being treated unfairly. It's very clear the owner doesn't really know how to run a business like this. The only times we ever saw him there he never made any effort to be friendly. He was there, at the table next to us, the night my husband proposed and he didn't even bother to acknowledge our presence. Not that we needed the acknowledgment, but if someone proposed at a business I owned, I'd buy them a drink or at least offer congratulations.While we will no longer be going to whistling hare, we will follow Makeda wherever she decides to go. And wherever that is, that place has no idea what a special person they've added to their family.PS: This place would have received a 5 star review from me, but because of everything mentioned I'm leaving only 1 star. Take better care of your employees.

The absolute best place for a Friday night! Great drinks and amazing atmosphere. Makeda is incredible, and she makes a fun environment even while having to wait a few extra minutes for your drinks on a busy night! Smooth bourbon, botanical gin, and earl grey vodka provide perfect bases for some flavorful and imaginative drinks that don’t need to be loaded with sugar to be delicious. Don’t listen to some of these reviews; they’re only here to push another business. Kinda shady, if you ask me, and I feel like Google needs to do a better job screening them.

My husband and I had the best evening last night enjoying deliciously crafted cocktails. Makeda made us feel very welcome and did her best to accommodate us on what seemed to be a busy Friday evening. We are big fans of the bourbon and gin!! Who knew they had a Groupon as well?! We will definitely be back for the amazing drinks, customer service, and vibes this place provides.
It was busy when we arrived so we had to wait more than 15 minutes to order and another 10 until we got our drinks. The drinks were just okay and not worth the wait. We tried a flight and was not impressed with any of the spirits as they seemed weak and lacked flavor. There was no food truck, even on a Friday night so we were forced to find a local restaurant nearby to satisfy our hunger. The staff was nice but did not make up for the overall experience. I strongly suggest visiting mad rabbit just a few blocks away as they have a much better selection and the drinks are way better.

Super chill place to grab a drink or two. Staff was friendly and easy going. I had the York Street Sour and my husband had the Bees Knees. Both were great! We’ll definitely be back. Looking forward to coming in the summer when the big garage door at the front is open!

We had a Groupon which we used a few weeks ago. We had a great experience and loved the atmosphere. The bartender made very good cocktails. We ended up buying a bottle of gin because it was so good! Very smooth. We will definitely be back to buy some more liquor!

We came here for the Groupon deal, which was something like $30 for 2 flights, cocktails, and souvenir shot cups. As it sounds, it was a stellar deal.I really liked the vibe of the place, and the bartender was super friendly and knowledgeable. There was no food truck outside the day that I came, however the brewing co next door had some really good sandwiches (and nice looking charcuterie boards, which we didn't get this time). Would highly recommend grabbing some food from there - they'll also deliver it nextdoor to you at whistling hare. The bartender said you can also bring in other outside food.My opinions regarding the liquors:Vodka is pretty smooth and sweet, but personally not a big vodka guy.Amber rum tastes like a light bourbon whiskey. Also sweet and smooth. I liked it, but also not my favorite.Bourbon was decent, nothing special in my opinion.Gin is sharp but the botanicals tasted really good. It gives it a sort of earl gray tea flavor, which I liked a lot. Ended up purchasing a bottle of this on the way out.Overall would totally recommend this place. It's pretty average priced outside of any deals, but the Groupon deal can't be beat.

I have taken everyone from friends to my in-laws here and they all really like it! Small and cozy tasting room with friendly bartenders and very good cocktails. Try the American Pika and vodka gimlet.
