We had a gift card that we have been waiting to use so we were excited to try a new restaurant. The door was locked at 5:00 ( our reservation time) we finally got in at 5:10 to be told they were out of menus. We did not have a waitress for at least 15 minutes and when we did finally order, we waited 45 minutes for our cold food.We waited so long for our check we had to ask the hostess for help. When our waitress finally brought the check she said she forgot our wine so “ don’t worry “ she did not add it on the check. (well, that is nice of her!! ) seems like a simple apology would have been appropriate. She then proceeded to tell me that her tip should NOT be on the gift card amount but rather the entire bill.I would NOT recommend a hundred plus dollar meal, no menus, cold dinner, no wine, the dinner took over two hours along and three couples left mad around us for the terrible service.Save yourself a headache and go to an enjoyable dinner elsewhere.

Black Forest Bistro has been on my list to try for a splurge date night. Everyone was very friendly. They were very busy and service was slow, but they seemed to be as attentive as they could be and very friendly. We weren’t in a hurry so we didn’t mind. The drinks were awesome and presentation was great. I was a little disappointed that all but a few items were sold out on the entree menu by the time we were asked for our order. Neither of us ordered our first or second choice, but the food was still incredible. Great presentation and flavorful food. We probably would have ordered dessert if the service was quicker, but didn’t want to wait. The desserts that came out looked amazing. We would give it another try, but seemed like an off night for service and menu items.

We've been loyal weekly patrons of the Black Forest Bistro, consistently spending around $150 on weekends. However, the quality of the food has steadily declined. Our recent experience during Burger night was disappointing, with every appetizer unavailable. This was our first sour encounter. Perhaps requesting meal choices during reservations could help reduce waste, as the chef likely aims to avoid it.Tonight, I ordered chicken fried steak with mashed potatoes, but it was evident that the mashed potatoes were instant or at least processed. Their unmistakable texture was a giveaway. Additionally, some staple items like the sticky noodles were missing, attributed to the absence of the assistant. However, it's puzzling why noodles couldn't be prepared when other dishes featured them. It seems more like an excuse to cut corners, possibly due to cost constraints, especially considering the online menu advertised the sticky noodles for tonight. It's regrettable because the food used to be excellent, but I can't justify paying $28 for instant potatoes. Sadly, this visit marks our final one to the Bistro.

Not a bad place. Wine and appetizers were delicious. Food was average with an above average price tag. I expected more. Doubt I'd go back.

The staff, food, cocktails and local flare....all top notch! Can't wait to go again! Pasta in a Parmesan wheel....what? Hoping to try that soon.

For an unassuming-looking little building near a nondescript crossroads in the woods, this place serves AMAZING food -- delicious, beautifully plated, and out-of-the ordinary. The service is warm and attentive. We go there for special occasions, especially in the summer, when we can sit out under the lights on the patio.

Reservation for 7pm cheese wheel. Asked at 8pm if we would be eating soon. Was told ‘well, we sat you last so it’s still going to be a while’. Asked to pay for our drinks and leave. Server brought a check for drinks we didn’t even order. Waste of time…. Saw our server for the first time after sitting for 20 minutes at our table…I’m sure the food is good, but we’ll never get the chance to taste because we’ll not be going back

We came for the Parmesan cheese wheel night for our anniversary. It was such a lovely experience. The service is fabulous, and the food is perfection. There were some mixups this night with reservations and the staff handled it with grace and generosity. This is a very well thought out restaurant that always delivers on service and food. We loved our experience and will always come back!

Came for pasta wheel night:They have a set menu with only pasta option. You can select proteins, which they run out of apparently. No shrimp, sausage or broccolini. So you can choose lobster, fried chicken bites (wth?), or scallops. Not sure how they don’t have enough protein ordered for a one item menu or even have a grilled chicken option for non seafood lovers on top of running out at 645pm. Also have 6 starters to choose from which they run out of as well (calamari). So we opted for the pretzel bites unfortunately. They were good had a bar pub style but tasty. All in all, cool experience with the pasta wheel but would not recommend or come back for it.

All around incredible!!! One of the best meals I’ve ever had, fantastic atmosphere, and some of the most incredible and special staff!! No wonder they’re usually booked for reservations! Will definitely be back. Thank you Black Forest Bistro staff!

Honestly I had high expectations and they were not met. My fiancé and I both got pasta dishes (he got a pesto one and I got a creamy mushroom one) neither were very good and the wait for our food was very long. I am willing to come again because it's a cool restaurant but I will be getting something completely different and hopefully it's good.

Let me start by saying that this post is a few weeks late so I apologize. I cannot recommend Black Forest Bistro enough! My family and I had gone for their special cheese wheel pasta event since I had always wanted to try cheese wheel pasta. When we arrived we immediately felt beyond welcome and almost like family (we had never been here before either), we were sat at our table and other than it being a bit cramped, it was very cozy. The bartender listed off the drinks and we ordered some mock-tails that were quite good, I got the drink called candyland which was a bit sweet for my taste but still very tasty (our waitress even offered to exchange my drink out).We got two appetizers, the burrata and prosciutto, and the bang bang shrimp. I loved the burrata appetizer, the honey on the prosciutto was especially delicious, my parents loved the bang bang shrimp as well. For entree we all got the cheese wheel pasta, my parents with scallops, and me with chicken. Not only was the presentation of the pasta absolutely amazing but the actual taste was to die for. I’m not kidding when I say I cried from it being so good. I tried a scallop and I they were genuinely the best scallops I’ve ever had, even better than Hell’s Kitchen in Las Vegas! We also got some garlic bread that tasted very unique but I actually thought it was quite good, very smoky. I can not express enough how amazing the pasta was, I ate my entire plate and then ate my parents leftovers the next night. I will say I didn’t enjoy the chicken that came with my pasta but it was on the side and I believe personal preference. We all then got desserts, my dad got banana foster, my mother a key lime pie slice, and me a slice of chocolate cake. I personally thought that the cake was a tiny bit too rich for my taste but that’s just personal preference, my dad tried it and loved it.Overall this exerting was absolutely amazing, the few things I didn’t like were personal preference, the food tasted phenomenal, and the service / atmosphere was so welcoming. This meal was on the more expensive side but I can honestly say it was worth every penny. I will 100% be coming back for more.

I was so excited to finally eat here and it was a complete let down. We were had reservation and had to wait 30 minutes past our time which ok I get.We get to the table and It took a waitress 20 minutes to come to our table once seated and we had to ask someone to get her so we could have water. It was 48 minutes to get a drink, yes, 48 to get a drink and it was soda at that…awful awful awful service!!!Such a bad experience. The food was mid they were out of multiple dishes, the waitress never stopped to check on us and we had to flag someone down to get her everytime we needed something.Honestly it was a waste of a date night would have had a better time at Chipotle.Don’t waste your time or money
