Monika is a patient, friendly and amazing teacher. I took a cooking class with her through the wounded warrior project with well over 20 other people. Somehow she was able to keep everyone engaged even though the venue we were using only had one stove!

And the meal she taught us to prepare was incredible! I can't say enough great things about Monika and her business and highly recommend her for any event!

Monika was a truly excellent instructor! Her interest in slowing things down for my group of friends and I so that we could really learn in an authentic way was wonderful. You could be a season home cook or a Craft Mac and Cheese beginner and still feel exceptionally taken care of by Monika. She really wanted every single one of us to feel involved and was very funny/relaxing as she guided us from one step to the next. Not to mention that was hands down the best Indian food I have ever wolfed down!!

I honestly can't say enough great things about our virtual polka dots and curry cooking class! Monika is such a pleasure to cook with. She is fun to be around and so easy to talk to. She is such a talented cook and really knows what she's doing. She took time to teach us tips/techniques specific to each delicious dish so we could continue to keep making the recipes even after our cooking class. The dishes are authentic and have been passed down through her family. I would highly recommend the experience! I can guarantee you won't be disappointed!

Yes, call me crazy but I drove all the way to Colorado Springs for a special meal for Christmas Eve. I placed my order online and let them know when I would be there to pick up. They had a discount offer that day which helped my huge bill. :) I ordered pretty much one of everything from the menu. When I arrived, they were not ready for me because of a mix up in time. However, because they were not busy, they prepared my order in a timely manner. I sat at one of the tables to wait and looked around. Used their restroom which was small but clean. Noticed they had kaya in the fridge and decided to add two containers to my order. Kaya jam is a sweet spread made from coconut milk, eggs and sugar. Haven’t had it in a while so I was excited to have some with toast. I’m glad they didn’t take a long time preparing my order otherwise I’d have added more things. They packaged everything carefully and helped me carry it out. For my frozen items they had cooking instructions stuck to the packaging so I would know how to prepare them at home. Nothing spilled and we enjoyed a feast fit for kings that evening. Everything was delicious and I’m so glad I drove all that way.

My wife and I were looking for a fun date idea and I thought a cooking class would be awesome. For the longest time, we have struggled with making Indian curry following countless Youtube chefs to no avail. After searching yelp for cooking classes, we found Polka Dots and Curry and decided to give it a shot!We had the pleasure of having Monika teach us how to make our favorite Indian curry, Chicken Korma as well as Naan bread and Chai!The entire process was smooth, fun, and interactive with many chances to get your hands dirty. My personal favorite was rolling out the dough needed for Naan bread. No more Costco Naan for me!Suggested Improvements - The only thing I can think of to improve the overall experience is to offer alternatives in the recipes that get emailed to clients. We ended up buying more ingredients than we needed because we ended up using substitutes during class.Other than that, we absolutely loved the cooking session and would highly recommend having Monika personally instruct you in Indian cuisine!
