Great food, Great staff, always professional, and always happy to serve you. Prices are fair, place is up to date. Not once was there a frown on the face of a customer thank you. Update: It was a hard thing for me to leave such a great place. 10 years above this cafe and other then cosmically the Service, owners, Tess & Management put their everything in this Gem on E/ Colfax.. Please people I'm not an employee or family I'm like you. Customer who loves the Africana Cafe. Not just for the food but for the atmosphere and the employees come visit you will not be disappointed. ??

Just when I thought Queen of Sheba was the only good Ethiopian in Denver. The sambusa was the best I’ve ever had. Large and spacey interior makes it great for large groups too. Will be back!

Delicious food and great, friendly service! We were greeted immediately and offered a great variety of regional beers. The appetizer samosas were so fresh and had just the right spiciness. The vegetarian combo and meat combo had great shareable portions for three people. We also loved the Lega Tibs. After dinner we tried the traditionally brewed Ethiopian coffee and it was so light and tasty. The owner, Simon, was a great host and he visited with us and shared stories. The dinner exceeded our expectations and was very memorable.

The food is absolutely delicious and the cook did provide a 5 star worthy experience. I would love to give the 5 stars but the host/server was not so great. She brought over water quickly but seemed to have no interest in talking to us or taking our food order. The cook happened to walk out and notice the our table and another had been waiting a long time already and took our orders, otherwise I’m not sure how long we would have waited. She did however help out the group of gentlemen that walked up to the bar immediately and enthusiastically. I suspect the lack of service may be language barrier related, but you can also tell when the person supposed to be helping you would rather be elsewhere. Overall, not the greatest service experience but the food was great.

Food was good and spicy- I got the vegetarian platter. I mostly was concerned that the prices are listed significantly lower on the menu than you are charged. I’m not sure how that’s legal when you agree to a price written on a menu. Hopefully this can be taken seriously and updated by the management but it seems the prices haven’t been updated for years based on the reviews.

Placed an online order through their website, but arrived at the restaurant and was told the kitchen was closed. Since I had already paid, I asked if there was a way to get a refund and was rudely told that they couldn't help me and to try calling customer service for their online ordering portal.
