First time having Ethiopian and it was amazing! I could probably eat 20 of their sambusas and the lamb in my dish was so tender. My husband is a spice fiend and he said his dish was the perfect balance of spiciness and flavor. My kids were unimpressed with the offerings but that's on us to broaden their culinary horizons better. Anyway. Staff was very kind to us, I was out of my element so their hospitality was much appreciated. Food was filling and so tasty and I definitely see us returning in the future. Thanks!!

Best Ethiopian around! I drive from Berthoud to Denver just to eat here, it’s worth it. The gluten free injera is awesome too!

I have a busy life and want to eat healthy. Abyssinia is my go to Ethiopian food. Always fresh and delivered quickly. If there are any discrepancies they fix it on the spot. The injera is Teff and you never feel that stuffed feeling, yes I can say it is medicine for the body spirit and soul?Vegetarian options: Ethiopian food is 80% vegetarian. It is savory and fresh. Any veggie cooked, from 3 kinds of lentils to chick pee to cabbage and potato to amazing spinach and garlic . Nothing like it

Food wise, the meal I ate here was amazing. This was my first Abyssinia dining experience. I would revisit the restaurant to explore their many menu offering. Ambiance wise, the atmosphere was calming and tranquil. Our server was appropriate. However, since the food is eaten with our hands, a bit of attention in the bathroom would be suggested. Washing up before the meal was not a pleasant or tranquil experience.

OMGGGG YOU HAVE TO GO HERE . I have been craving Ethiopian food for a very long time. I read so many reviews about having gluten-free injera. I honestly did not believe it until I tried it and the picture was a meat sampler with two veggies on a gluten free injera. We also ordered an appetizer the lentil dish it was gluten-free and it also came with a gluten-free injera. It was so delicious. I took the rest of my injera home to keep in my freezer lol. Just a quick note, I have celiac disease after I went home, the acid was really hurting my stomach because I wasn't used to so much sauces :) but it was so Yummy and it went right away . 5/5 . OH AND OUR SERVER WAS SO SWEETDietary restrictions: Gluten and celiac

I have eaten here before and the food was good even if the service was slow. This last time was egregiously bad though. We waited for over twenty mintues without them taking our order, despite us trying to get their attention. Eventually we just left. It was incredibly rude.

BEST Ethiopian food in Denver. I’ve been coming here for over 15 years. I’ve been to every other Ethiopian restaurant on Colfax and this place is by far the best. The prices cannot be beaten and the food tastes BETTER too! The owner and cooks are so kind and say hello every time I come in. If you’re looking for excellent food and are new to Ethiopian food, this is the place for you!Parking: Parking is no problem at all.

Best Ethiopian food in town. Their green beans and salad and injera are out of this world. So is everything I’ve had here. Great service, big portions, fair prices. I love this place!

My husband and I came here for the first time. We love Ethiopian food! We thought the food was great but, it was really really slow and it was just us and one other person in the store. It took over an hour. The staff was super nice. Besides how slow the service is I would recommend it.

Warm and inviting atmosphere, food is top notch. Try the Ethiopian dry wine ✌️
