While the service was great the food left much to be desired. The drinks were good. I would definitely pay attention to the service fee it hits hard at the end of the meal.

The place is very cute and very much feels like a nice Italian ambiance. I went with a group for Denver restaurant week and the food was ok at best. Really nothing special. I don't know if this Carmines is associated with the one in Las Vegas but this food was far below those standards. The chicken marsala lacked flavor and the baked ziti tasted was bland. The caesar salad ended up being the highlight. They were out of chocolate cake and my party ended up still being hungry since it is $70 for two people to share one entree design. Weird. Also, by pre-building an excessive 22% service fee (plus an additional 3% fee for the building), it does not motivate your staff to check the tables on water and be as attentive. I understand that Denver cost of living is higher and believe in a higher minimum wage, but why not prebuild at 17% as a floor and people can tip more if they want based on the service they receive? The service fee was listed on the table but not on the website and it seems fishy and deceptive. Our waiter really wasn't with it either.

Avoid at all costs! The food is very mediocre at best. The ziti and chicken parm were big let downs. The chicken piccata was actually pretty good. The dessert for the 6 of us only being one slice of cheesecake and 4 cannolis even though 4 of us asked for cheesecake. And this is after the chocolate cake being out.We came for Denver restaurant week and it ended up being $70 per 2 people to share 1 meal menu. Very deceptive. And its on the table but 22% automatic tip plus the 3% fee are way to excessive. I tip 20% usually but 22%+3% is way too excessive. And our waiter was unhappy to be there as he said multiple times how hard it was to work in food service. All in all, avoid at all costs. Definitely not worth it. Far better Italian options around for roughly the same price even if you park out the family style aspect to a per plate basis. Not a good experience.

Super disappointed with my experience today. Hidden fees and deceptive practices.I made a reservation to try the $35 restaurant week special. Turns out this deal doesn't exist, it's actually $70 for 2 people, to share 1 meal. I'd bet that doesn't count this surprise 22% fee either, so what I thought was going to cost 35, likely would have ended up over 100. Nowhere on the ad does it say anything about this and the way the waiter described it sure made it sound like you guys are aware of the miscommunication and aren't fixing it to lure customers. That is the definition of a bait and switch, and is illegal. I have half a mind to report to the bbb just because you wasted my time today and I had no time to reserve anywhere else, so I had to settle with a takeout pizza for dinner during restaurant week. I don't care how much food I may have gotten. If you got to lie about the cost to get me in the door, I will go out of my way to make sure nobody I know comes here.

We've been meaning to check Carmine's out for a while and regret it took so long. From start to finish the food and service were really good. (Thanks Brittany! Sorry if I spelled your name wrong.)

The wait staff at Carmines was one of the best group that I've seen in a long time. Friendly and very conscientious about making sure we had everything we wanted or needed. The food was excellen! I highly recommend this restaurant and we'll be going back.

We enjoyed restaurant week menu and will definitely come back in the future! It was our first time there - a bit noisy but very service was great! The caramel cheesecake was the highlight for our entire 5 person party

One of the best experiences we have had at a restaurant. The service was fantastic! They have a 22% gratuity included but we did not mind at all because everyone from the door in and out was there so make sure we had everything we needed.

We felt like they couldn't get us out of the restaurant fast enough. We had 5 o'clock reservations and they had us fed and with the check by 5:45. The next course was at the table before we were done with the prior course. That has not been our experience in the past at carmines and goes against normal fine dining standards. We felt very rushed and it detracted from our experience. The food was terrific and the staff was friendly. But for $175 meal I would have hoped to not feel as though they couldn't wait to get rid of us and get the next table in. And there were plenty of open tables and we were a table of 2. Disappointing.

We are from New York and moved here in 2018. This is hands down the best Italian food we have had since we moved here. It is comparable to Arthur Avenue in the bronx. We arrived early and thought we would have to wait, but we were seated right away. The only thing that I didn't like was where our table was it was adjacent to the hostess stand a little bit by itself I felt like we weren't really in the restaurant, if I went again, I would not want to sit there. We will definitely be going again. Our waitress was phenomenal. The manager came over to box our leftovers and he couldn't have been nicer. Everything was clean well organized, and a wonderful experience we will be back.

So disappointed the Caesar salad was marginal bread was delicious. The chicken dish we ordered was good the pasta hardly had any sauce on it had to ask for some olive oil the dessert was dried out Would have preferred not having restaurant week and going to a good restaurant
