Dukes Good Sandwiches came across my social media feed and promised a good smash burger. It is in the rear end of the five points plaza, making it a nice somewhat hidden spot for a bite to eat with family or potentially after you've had a few cold ones from a brewery nearby. The ambience is nice, outside, and they even have a game of Cornhole waiting for anyone brave enough to challenge a stranger to a brief match while waiting for the burger/sandwich to be ready. I personally ordered a double burger but even the regular burger my wife orders was of a decent size. The meat was nice and browned as a good smash burger should be. But There wasn't much flavor to the burger itself, it seemed to lack a decent amount of salt. To top it off it seems that Denver's economy has hit this establishment as well as we paid $17 for just the burger ($14 + $3 for a double) which did not include any sides. Total for just burgers and a 12oz can of Coke came out to around $50 including tip. They charge only $1.75 for a bag of chips but for $17 I would expect it to at least come with salt. All in all, it's a decent burger! Great environment for a warm Colorado day, filling for sure but for the price and the seasoning I'm giving this a solid 3 stars.

I come to Denver once a year and I ensure I stop by Duke's as part of my itinerary! I always get the Chopped Cheese which is a classic go to. The bun is soft and the meat is awesome! I personally like the Smash Burger as well, and I like how they have the "Make it a Double" for only $3 more! This time around I tried their Caprese, and I'm a big fan of the pesto. Overall, very friendly staff and savory food :)

We were in town for a show and felt so welcomed while we ate lunch. Employee (sorry I didn’t catch her name- the one that bakes the cookies etc) was so friendly and personable. It was fun sharing the reason we were in town and we haven’t stopped raving about the burgers.

If you're looking for a smash burger this is your place! 10/10 this will be my family's go to place for now on. Best part is it's family owned by a wonderful couple local to the neighborhood. Eat good. Support small businesses!

Duke's Good Sandwiches is the best in Five Points. The food delicious and patio remarkably clean. Right in the heart of Five Points and dog friendly. They have good food, cold beer and even banana pudding -must try Duke's!

Absolutely wonderful place to go. Love the sandwich! The owner was so nice. His wife has a bakery up front and the same building. Wonderful little bakery. We'll recommend trying both of these

Stopped here before jazz festival. They are located in the back of a bakery and to order, you use a short alley to get to the back. There they have several tables. You order at the window and it is a simple menu. The bread is baked fresh in house. The desserts offered change and also come from their bakery. Got it spicy. At first I was worried that by the looks that there was not a lot of meat but it was just hidden. Great bread and the meat was delicious. Be warned that by the end of the sandwich it was dripping a lot all over so be sure to eat over he wrapper or you will get it all over you.
