Oh my! :( This was like watching a Top Chef restaurant wars fail. The product we were able to taste was good! The service was very manic and extremely confusing. The staff was working very hard, but running around and no one had a specific job. They did not have a system to keep track of any orders. We had to leave after 30 min because the person who took our order lost the order and/or could not tell how much longer. Again, if the all the staff had 1 specific job, this place could be a 5 stars -- maybe?? We got baked goods, but could not get forks or napkins without getting in line again. The trash was overflowing both in the dining room & bathroom. It was such a frantic vibe--- very off putting! They need table numbers, labels for their products in the display case and a system. Regardless, I wish them well. Running a business is challenging but organization needs to be prioritized.

The made to order items were delightful. We were too full at that point to try the sweet pastries. Will be back again for sure.

TikTok made us do it! We traveled from WA on the way to see family and made sure to put this fabulous bakery on our “must stop” list! We had a limited sampling through no fault of the bakery (we came in on a weekday) but still massively enjoyed what we ate! The “napoleon” which featured a light flaky crust and a beautiful custard filling was among the favorites. The “maple cheese” pastry had a delicious airy (and lightly sweetened whipped cheese filling) that was to die for!!If you’re coming in for a sweet or savory treat, the menu is expanded for weekend traffic however, weekday items were delish. We devoured our pastries too fast to photograph but managed to capture the last one offered as an alternate version of the already fabulous napoleon. WOW is all I have to say about the Armenian version of the napoleon, Yum!!Great place and totally worth the trip!!

We drove by this place, probably 50 times and just never popped in. Was scrolling on Instagram and found this place on the Denver FOOD scenes page so on April 13 we decided to stop in and boy. I'm glad we did. Not only are they the friendliest people that work there, they're incredibly knowledgeable, but beyond that it is very affordable and very good pastries and savory dishes. I highly recommend house of bread.

This place is the real deal. I had the Jingalov bread which was like nothing I've ever eaten. The flavors are I indescribable. Eat it at the restaurant, you will thank me.

This spot came highly recommended by many people so I had high expectations and I was still blown away!! It’s one thing to have great food (which it was exceptional) but it’s another to be treated to a whole experience!! Father and son gave us such an adventure, giving us recommendations, education and true A+ customer care!! A new neighborhood favorite for sure!!!!

10,000 BC Neolithic age, the earliest evidence of bread-making was found around Mesopotamia. The old English word for bread was called 'hlaf' that why we call it a 'loaf' in modern English. House of Bread is an Armenian bakery located in SE Denver. Armenia is a country located in Eurasia bordered by Turkey to the west and Georgia (the country not the state) to the north. What makes this place HOB special is the made to order dishes. Website photos describes each dish and estimated time it takes to prepare. They also have pre made pastries for quick pick ups. Kachapuri - Georgia's national dish they have different flavors one with Armenian style beef procuitto. Lahmajun - is a Levant style of pizza but usually does not come with cheese and the crust is very thin. Napoleon - aka Mille-Feuille is made in house with vanilla cream. Served with powdered sugar to blow some dust. They also sell a traditional Mille-Feuille made not in-house didn't try because it was sold out. The Meringue cake slice was airy and fresh. Service was friendly and they also have south facing patio tables to enjoy vitamin D. This place has so many different items I want to come back and try everything!

This is an incredible Armenian restaurant disguised as a pastry shop! Yes they sell baked goods, but ignore that for a moment and go look at their “made to order” dishes on the menu!*Please note* It does take a while to get your food, but they put time warnings on the menu so you know how long you can expect to wait. And ohhhh is the wait well worth it. Everything is made fresh and it’s all seasoned to perfection. Our very favorite things to get are the Ajarski Khachapuri - Basturma, the Sini Mante, and the Vegetarian Plate (hummus lovers, this hummus is absolutely good enough to eat on its own?)To be fair they do have an extensive selection of desserts, and we’ve yet to find a better Honey Cake or Napoleon cake since moving to the Denver area. But that’s all I will vouch for on the pastry front. The rest of the desserts we’ve gotten have been average to … meh.Vegetarian options: The vegetarian plate is ? so yummyKid-friendliness: My 3 year old loves the Ajarski Khachapuri (egg and cheese bread). It’s a very mild and easily palatable flavor combo. Everything else from the ‘made to order’ section has been a little too much for her.But she is always excited to go because they have a gigantic selection of pastries. It’s fun for her to pick out something new to accompany her cheese bread, and then we eat our food on the little table out front when weather permits.

Two people before me ask the counter man to put toilet paper and towels in the bathroom. When I went in there was still no toilet paper towels. Very disappointing attitude. Food was pretty good so take out would probably be a good choice. We won't be back.

Delicious food and good services. I visit this store almost daily, either in the morning or in the evening. The staff is very hospitable and the dealings with them are smooth.
