I went to Local Jones in the Halcyon Hotel for a late night dinner and drinks and it was phenomenal! I sat at the bar and had the pleasure of talking to bartenders Chuck and Jeff. They were so knowledgeable and made the most AMAZING cocktails! I had dinner too which was delicious. I was full, yet wanted more because the flavors were on point. Local Jones, unfortunately, fell far short of expectations during our recent dining experience. With a price tag of $180 for two people, the meal should have been exceptional. However, it was quite the opposite.My husband's steak frites arrived overcooked, devoid of the requested pink center. Even the waitress acknowledged the error upon delivery, admitting that the steak lacked any semblance of medium rare. Rather than offering to rectify the mistake by preparing a new steak to the correct temperature, the only remedy presented was a choice between a dessert or a meager 50% discount. This lack of accountability and effort to make things right left a sour taste in our mouths.My own dish, the pot roast, was equally disappointing. The portion size was paltry, with a minuscule piece of meat accompanied by a handful of potatoes. For the price paid, the value simply wasn't there.Overall, our dining experience at Local Jones was a letdown. Given the high price point and the subpar quality of the food, it's safe to say that we won't be returning anytime soon. With so many excellent dining options in Denver, this establishment failed to meet even the most basic standards of quality and customer service.

My husband and I went to a Pairing dinner last night at Local Jones. Prisoner wines was there to match a selection of wines to the meal. All of the wines were great and paired well.We showed up and entered through the beautiful hotel into Local Jones. The place is beautifully designed and the dinner layout was great. The entire team was welcoming and attentive. Once we sat down, the fun began. The entire night was a Puerto Rican inspired food selection with multiple courses. We could have stopped at course 1 with the Mofongo. That dish delivered every bit of flavor needed to satisfy our palettes. Course 2 was another delicious dish, but the 3rd dish was a Churrasco Steak with a Guava, Papaya (chef said it helps tenderize the meat), Chimichurri and a few other additions. The steak had a great fire grilled flavor to it and the seasoning was incredible. All of the dish melted in your mouth. We consumed every bite. Then dessert came.It was a Passion Fruit Tres Leches Cake. Again, it hit every point.After dinner, we had a chance to speak with the Chef for the evening, Tony. I will say this. Chef Tony is an attentive, creative, passionate and masterful chef. His attention to detail matched the entire property and environment. Every dish was incredible. If he is the head of another dinner at Local Jones, or anywhere for that matter; we will follow.Thank you to the team at Local Jones for putting that dinner together and thank you to Chef Tony for the unforgettable flavors. Server was inattentive. My chicken schnitzel was ok until I got about 3/4 of the way through it and noticed that the remaining portion was raw. Not just undercooked... raw. My husband's short rib hash was burned crisp on the top, like it had been left under a warmer too long. This was the third time we'd been to Local Jones, and not sure we'll be returning.
