This place is great! We stopped in on a whim looking for Indian food and Mehak did not disappoint. They have a large wine list and huge bar with a variety of cocktails. Everything we had was delicious. The manager stopped by our table and was so kind and polite. He said new owners had taken over the restaurant recently, and I would like to say they are doing an amazing job!

We visited Mehek because of a friend's recommendation, and weren't disappointed at all. We were surprised by the ample parking space even despite being in the Cherry Creek district. The staff were super friendly to our family of a toddler and a new born. Most important of all, I felt the food was closer to the Indian roots - fresh, less sugar, and not drowned in cream. Highly recommend the salad with tamarind based house dressing, the tikka with the smokey, creamy saucy, and the aromatic, 'tomatoey' vindaloo. Lots of yum for a reasonable price!

I usually don’t write bad reviews but I’m hoping the restaurant will take note. Service was friendly and lovely, I had no problem there. But I was shocked at how bad and inauthentic the food was. I’ve eaten a lot of Indian food and I appreciate an authentic experience. Everything we ordered was super oily. There were little pools of oil sitting in there. The saag had a frozen spinach flavor. The butter chicken had too much sugar. The eggplant had a burnt onion /dark spice flavor that completely overpowered the dish. The rice didn’t have that aromatic, fluffy texture you expect. Usually a good Indian restaurant will provide sides of chutney and raita - here they charge $4 and it’s not that good. I felt greasy and disappointed at the end of the meal. Like very regretful. Lastly, atmosphere. If you want your restaurant to have a good vibe, embrace the theme and play Indian music. Or at least not 90s alternative. Totally ruins the vibe. It doesn’t help that the place was totally empty, but we didn’t like the decor. It’s tired, tacky-modern, and again, inauthentic. But none of that would matter if the food was good. Sorry. Thanks to the kind service, this is not a 1 star review.

Overall 4.5, a little pricey, but considering the area, I get it.
Food: the portion is enough for 1 person if really hungry. 5 spice levels. 2 was actually mild with a kick. 3-4 would be the sweet spot, and 5 for a seasoned spice eater. Wished they believed us that we could handle our spice, so regrettably didn't get it spicier, and when asked if we could get it a little spicier after tasting, they kinda just smiled and walked away.
Garlic Naan was garlicky, literally minced garlic with every bite ? Yogurt with the Biryani was great. Samosa was big, loved the flaky crust.
Service: My glass of water was never empty and I never asked for a refill. This means attentiveness. ?
Atmosphere: appears elevated. I personally prefer booths with leather seats than cushion, it's hard to slide out of. Bathroom was clean. Not really wheelchair accessible, I don't think I saw a ramp.

We loved our meals at Mehak and it’s always a treat. The service is great (our server this time was John) and the food was excellent. We got to try the pistachio dessert which was a delicious end to a fantastic meal. We’re planning on coming back many times!
