Cool place for events

I have been to Corner House for dinner and brunch, and both times had a great experience. Every time I am in that part of town, I consider if I have time to go there. The décor is relaxing and has a friendly feel. The service is stellar, personal, friendly and fun. The food, and we ordered appetizers, main courses and desserts, was all fresh and fabulous with the best coffee I have had in Denver. The portions were the perfect size, and the prices were great. We are not drinkers, but we were talking to the people next to us, and their cocktails were gorgeous and tasty. The patio is so much fun for brunch. I look forward to coming this great place. Parking is a cinch, the part of town is convenient, and you can take a stroll in the nice park across the street after your meal. I will be adding this restaurant to my highly recommended list

Out if towner from New York here , ended up here because the wait at a speak easy was ridiculously long but we were very happy with the delicious food , strong unique drinks and mouth watering desert -(get the ice cream). Service was great we got here late close to closing but the waiter was very nice and accommodating .

Corner House is perfect for you if you're a hipster who wants to only enjoy a few bites of food. Seriously, we had to go for second dinner after having a meal here because the portions (along with menu selection) were ridiculously tiny. We came in on a Saturday night because I had a Living Social that needed to be used and they only had a hightop table available along with seats along the window. We sat at the community high top table and that's probably gonna be your option when you come here because there were only about five or six tables in the place, this place is small. Servers were friendly enough but they were hustling because it was busy. I think the highlight of the night was when I asked our server for an iced tea and they told me they didn't serve that. I thought my boyfriend was going to have to push my chin back up because I was amazed that they didn't have iced tea. I guess them and their patrons are too blasé for a commoners drink like iced tea. I had the steak and it was tasty thanks to a carmelized onion puree but it was only a few bites and even more so since we were splitting our dishes. My boyfriend got the seafood red curry and there were only a few bites of various seafood (mussels, crawfish, etc.) so I didn't want to marsh his mellow by stealing too many bites. They only had about four or five entrees on the menu with no sandwiches on the dinner menu which stinks because sometimes you just want a sandwich. I don't need a selection like Cheesecake Factory but appreciate places that have more than five items to pick from. Perhaps I'm just not hip enough (or don't make enough money) for a place like this. The bill around $55 with a $30 Living Social bill to apply so we still had to foot out a pretty penny, talk about a Living Social fail!

If this was advertised as a place for tapas, I'd totally understand. Instead, they charge full price for meals that look insignificant compared to many other restaurants in the area. The servings were so little that we had to go out for a second dinner somewhere else. oy! Service is pretty good, yet a bit scattered. I don't think I'll ever come back or recommend this place. The restaurant is in a great area so I'm sure they will have no problems attracting more people to come here. However, a business is also built on repeat business and good service/product. The latter which they lack. Oh well...moving on.

Girls' dinner out made even better by getting a Living Social deal to this wonderful little bistro! I had the flank steak which was cooked perfectly and accompanied by the most amazing crunchy kale sauteed with chorizo. Delicious! The service was fantastic as well! Travis, Gordon and Chef Sharif were all on hand and gave personal attention to me and my best friend. We ended the evening with the "Chocolate Waffle". Basically a delicious chocolate waffle served with bananas foster! it was the perfect end to that wonderful meal. This is definitely a new haunt for me! Stop in and give them a try.

I went to Corner House for brunch on a recent Sunday, enjoyed it very much - Good mimosa & crab cake Benedict, and pretty good value. I also tasted the quinoa granola and liked it. I'd suggest it to friends, but not enthusiastically, because it is kind of small and noisy. I think it is a mistake to have bathroom doors that open to tables. None-the-less, I'll go back.

If I could give lower than a one star rating, Corner House would be the place I'd give it to. I'm basically fuming from the experience I just had there and although I don't like to write rash Yelp reviews, I feel this restaurant deserves this one. I just had brunch there and here's how things went: we were sat right away as the restaurant was pretty empty, we ordered drinks, they brought the wrong one out for me, then didn't bring out the drink I actually ordered for at least 20 minutes. An HOUR after we ordered our food, our server told us they were "out of waffles" (don't even ask me how you run out of flour, eggs, sugar and milk...) so my friend ordered something else and our food finally came out at 12:35 (we got there at ELEVEN!). The food was just okay but I was really too upset with the service to pay much attention to it. Several lightyears later, our waiter brought our check. He had comped my friend's meal so the bill was only $16. I had bought a Living Social deal of $13 for $30 so when I asked if I was able to use it on our $16 bill our waiter told me it would only save me a dollar so not to bother. So I ended up paying the $16 PLUS the $13 I had already paid for the deal... Do not even ask me how that makes sense. I WILL NEVER EVER BE BACK HERE AGAIN.

If I lived closer to the Corner House I would be there every weekend. I live in Parker and it's well worth the drive and I can't say that about a lot of places. The decor is organic. I walk in and I get a calming and friendly vibe from the entire space. The service - the few times I have been there it has always been stellar. My coffee is never empty and the food is timed nicely. They make you feel like one of the family. The food - There is something for everyone. It's both focused and diverse at the same time. The flavor combinations and choices are spot on and really make me happy. This past weekend I had brunch and it did not disappoint. What magically hit our table were Oysters Rockefeller, Black Beans (more like a dip), Clam Chowder, Quinoa/Spinach Salad, and Belgium Waffles. The stand out dish was the Oysters Rockefeller. I always give extra credit to a dish than can change my mind about a particular food item. This did that as I'm not a fan of cooked oysters. The toppings made this with an odd combination of chorizo, spinach and ginger - it was phenomenal. The presentation of the Black Beans immediately took me to the Shrimp Cocktail scene in Beetlejuice. I waited for a moment after it was placed on the table but it didn't start dancing and grabbing everyone's face. It would have been so cool if it had but it didn't. It was yummy to say the least. What I loved about the Clam Chowder is that they let it stand on it's own. Unlike the stuff that comes in the can that is almost solid and could possibly stand on it's own. This was much more light and it didn't feel heavy as it let the flavors of the natural ingredients stand on their own. I paired that with the Quinoa/Spinach Salad which was also nicely presented and tasted fresh and clean. My dining companion had the Belgium Waffles and she was not disappointed. One of my favorite items on the menu is the coffee, which comes from Elevation Coffee Company. It's a medium to dark roast but doesn't take like it and is served with real cream and little golden nuggets of cane sugar. If you haven't tried this it will change the way you want your coffee.

We moved to Jefferson Park a year ago, and regularly went to Corner House for the first few months we lived here. We loved it, but stopped going to save money. We've now gone twice in the last 2 months and are so disappointed. The food was disappointing and the portions are small but EXPENSIVE. The waitstaff is so beyond over-the-top and both times we've been there spent most of time talking to each other or staying to chat at our table for 10+ minutes. I'm all for getting to know waitstaff and friendly waiters, but we didn't get to enjoy our conversation because our waitress wanted to tell us all about the music she listens to. I'm sorry to be a downer - i really wanted to like this place, but we won't be going back..especially now that there are other options opening up. I think they could turn it around with a new menu and someone else running the house. I wish them luck!

Went here for dinner at 7pm on a Saturday night. We made reservations after reading other reviews and figuring it would be busy. Oddly we were one of only three groups of people there. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable, but it was soooo odd it was so slow on a weekend night. The place is small and cozy with a great (and different) menu. This is a neighborhood restaurant but with more of a trendy feel. I would definitely go back.

We went to the Corner House for brunch and ended up sitting waiting for our waiter for 10-15 min but he never came to help us. Note that we were literally one of four tables in the whole restaurant at the time. Instead he and the bartender casually stood pouring champagne flutes into a pitcher (for some mimosas for a table full of college kids) and chatting while we and the two tables next to us sat trying to get his attention. In the meantime, the music was so loud that we had to basically yell to communicate with each other across the table, and could hear the other two tables near us yelling the whole time too. Keep in mind this was brunch at noon, not drinks at midnight in a nightclub... eventually we, and the group next to us, walked out and the waiter and bartender still hadn't even looked at us since we were seated. We mentioned something on the way out but they couldn't be bothered. They were still at the bar talking and brushed us all off as literally half of the restaurant cleared out... Never got to try the food but do not recommend based on bad service. Try Sassafras nearby. Always amazing food and respectful staff.

Corner House has been on my list of restaurants to try and I was sadly disappointed. Wait staff verbalized happy hour menu and once asked if there was an actual menu... provided the happy hour menu. Charge $8 for a Milk Stout, but you can get a coors for $3 on happy hour. Do people who spend $20 on dinner at Corner House seriously buy a coors? No thanks! There are plenty of great happy hour options in Denver. Less than stellar dining experience.

I really really wanted to fall for this place as I live half a block away. When they first opened we ate the breakfast burrito multiple times. However the ingredients seemed to have change. Not sure if they needed to cut back on some spots but that was not one for sure. After having the last burrito we both looked at one another knowing it had been changed which was too bad. I havealso had acouple sandwiches forbrunch which were well rounded and tasty. I will have tokeep trying food there in order to review the whilemenu. We have also gone for cocktails. I get the mixology aspect and wanting to be new and inventive but if the only way that can happen is worth $10 cocktails then that's a hard sell. The decor is nice and has a good vibe. I will have some more meals here to give it some more chances but I'm not made of money so I will just be drinking water I guess.

My husband and I recently had brunch at the Corner House - liked it but didn't love it. I had the Short Rib Chiliquiles and my husband had the Prosciutto Eggs Benedict. I think I ordered better here - the flavor was excellent although the whole dish could have been warmer. I also asked for my egg to be poached hard and it was not. My husband's Benedict looked OK, but not much different than what we could have made at home. The space is beautiful and it's a nice place to eat. I would definitely give Corner House another shot but I will probably try some other new places first!
