Fun atmosphere. We only had rolls and miso which was good. Salad dressing was not the typical peanut carrot ginger it was a vinegar. Only complaint was strong smell of fabulosa

Yummy drinks and good sushi. Seems really overpriced for the quality. We enjoyed our dinner but could have gone to another sushi place and got the same quality for half the price. I suggest Uchi for fancy sushi or Rocky Yama for budget.

The rolls were amazing and the service was even better! Jessica our waitress was so kind and make the experience wonderful, and then they also have a fabulous bartender Ivy that made a perfect mock-tail and old fashioned! We can't wait to come back

Not often do I get on the computer to write a review but I felt compelled to after trying Ronin! By far the best customer service my boyfriend and I have received in a while. Not to mention the food was incredible. We were originally going to get take out but it was a last minute impulse to stay in since it was such an inviting interior. It was a cozy set up and we decided to sit at the sushi bar (best decision) Our server was so friendly and helped us go through the sake menu and choose a delicious option. The rolls we got were amazing and then the sushi chef made us a special role based on our likes. We loved talking to him and the other chef making desert who crafted us a beautifully plated mochi desert. All in all best experience and we hope to return soon!

While the food is excellent, the ambiance leaves something to be desired. When you have a loud boisterous table of eight and then a table for three seated right next to each other, maybe it's time to turn down the music a little. The server looked at us like we were nuts when we casually asked if it could be turned down a bit. I don't enjoy needing to shout in order to be heard. At the very least have an area where people can enjoy the food and still hear one another. There are still people who go out to enjoy the food, ambiance and normal (even raised voices) conversation.

Cesar our sushi chef at the bar was all time! He made us his Cesar specialty roll and it was the best roll I ever had!

The sushi was superb and the service very good. But the noise level made it not a very pleasant experience. After the music was turned off it was better. A close table of 8 were loud - with no sound dampening features their laughter and conversations were unpleasant.

Absolutely delicious. The fish tasted fresh and the miso soup was perfect. We sat at the sushi bar and were mesmerized watching the chefs slice and dice the fish up. Pretty pricy but 1000% worth it. Can't wait to come back.

Valentine’s massacreMade a reservation for Sushi Ronin in Congress Park on the one night of the year that best stay in. Oh well, the hopeless romantic in me.Result, very average food for $$$$Did sushi a lar carte, try to pick the better stuff. Ask for Uni and they don’t have it…… the chutoro @ $10 a piece was fatty but the fish tasted kinda watery. The hotate @$8 a piece is smaller than other places we’ve been. (Try Sushi Taku)The famous Godzilla Roll was a potential game winner that didn’t go in. The steak on the roll was pretty good, but the roll was too small (size of a AYCE sushi roll) You kind of expected more for $24. The amaebi (sweet shrimp) was good. 7.5/10.As far as the ramen and chicken karage goes, very average. Comparable to what you can get at the Costco frozen aisle. To add insult to injury, the manager came and ask me how the meal was. I said it was meh. He ask for feedback, which I gave. Then he said thanks for coming and walked away. Should that be considered as good service?Last word. Like many places in our city, we love charging NYC prices @$100 a pop. All I ask is you give a wow or two. I know I’ve gotten it in Manhattan, but so far only disappointment in our wanna be mountain town. The only memorable thing about tonight is the lovely lady who sat on the other side of the table.(Photo can be deceiving)

Other than the fact we had to ask for a server to take care of us after 15 min of being seated this place is phenomenal! Our waitress was great after we snagged her, the fish is fresh and one of the top 5 sushi spots we frequent. Congress park location is a little smaller than the umatilla st location so gives it a very intimate feel!

Had a great time here for my fiancé's birthday. The Ronin roll is a must. The regular rolls (we got rainbow) were very meh and didn't taste as fresh or tender. Drinks were fantastic - get the specialty cocktail on the paper menu. Service was okay, they were slammed so we understood. Wish they did something a lil extra for her birthday, but I think it was hard because of the rush. Overall, would recommend. Want to go back and keep trying other rolls, sashimis, and nigiris.

Absolutely loved Ronin! I sat at the sushi bar and it was so fun chatting with the sushi chefs and watching them make the sushi! Would definitely recommend that over sitting at a table. There isn't much seating inside so would recommend making a reservation, especially on weekend! Parking is also street parking. May have to walk a ways! I ordered two rolls, and both were delicious! All the fish is super fresh and flavorful! I will definitely be back! The servers were also great - very friendly!

Finally got around to trying this neighborhood spot with all the raves and it was worth the hype! Great sushi rolls- big, fresh, creative combinations. The toro nigiri on special was cut well and melt-in-your-mouth fatty with a nice pop of umami from the bowfin caviar. The chicken karaage was very crispy on the outside and had a great spicy sweet sauce. We tried the Ronin and Goku rolls; Ronin was my favorite but they're both very good, as a Chicagoan who has been eating sushi her whole life, this spot beats a lot of places in Chitown. The atmosphere is a little **fancy** for sushi imho but they have a more relaxed bar area in back I would sit at next time (also the HH specials are only available at the bar just fyi)
