Food was terrible but the service and ambiance was great. Salmon was extremely salty, frozen vegis - nothing on them, crab was a mealy cake. The pork was over cooked. Bread was stale and nothing special. Soda was flat, they forgot our app but were really nice. Would only go back for a cocktail.

A fine dining experience right on Main Street in Durango. We arrived at 5 pm and were seated promptly without a reservation. Our server was very attentive throughout the meal, and the manager also checked on us as well as the other patrons.I had the elk tenderloin with cherry demi sauce, and it was phenomenal. It was served with a small sweet potato and mixed vegetables. One friend had a surf and turf, and another had a steak. Everyone enjoyed their main course. However, one friend was not satisfied with her loaded potato. She said it was cold, and when she added additional butter, it didn't melt because of it being cold. For dessert, we had a cheesecake that was creamy and delicious and the toffee cake. It had a beautiful presentation with warm toffee, vanilla ice cream, and whip cream. The cake was not my favorite, but overall, we enjoyed our dining experience.

Disappointed. We've eaten at mahogany many times over the years. In September we brought first time visitors to Durango and ate there. It was worse than this rating! Not giving up, we tried again just this week (2/20), and again with first time visitors. Once again, the food was very unsatisfactory...terrible! The steak ok ..the fish fishy and dry. On the bright side, the service was exceptional! We're done at mahogany! Seven Rivers for us here on our!

Our service was amazing. Hostess, servers and staff were perfect. The ambience was great. The appetizers were fair the meatballs on both mine and my husband's plate were cold. The salad was amazing. The soup was delicious. My fish meal was good. My husband‘s steak and sauce was not warm. But we didn't complain because of the full house.

We love the elegance and ambience of the Strater. We had excellent service. However, both my wife and I felt that the food was Good - not Excellent. We had to send back the beet salad ( not really a salad) -just cold (not real fresh) beets with a very sweet dressing. My Soup du jour (wild rice/mushroom) was too thick (not a soup) with the consistency of oatmeal/porridge. My $65 ribeye, was not a premium cut ( not real tender w/ lots of fat. The Demi glaz was highly seasoned beef bullion with no wine flavor. We have been going there for decades, but we're somewhat disappointed in the food quality this time. However we will go back and give them a second chance. It may have been a bad night for the chef.

Another wonderful experience at the Mahogany Grille. Our suburb waiter, Dalton, pointed us in the right direction and was helpful and attentive throughout dinner. Hubby had the crab stuffed salmon which was cooked perfectly. I had the stuffed squash which I was a bit worried about but was perfectly cooked and delicious. Will definitely order both again. Oh and we started with two of the most delicious drinks; a Manhattan and I Thoroughly enjoyed these th Georgia in the South. Was sooo good! Bread was also was and good. Can't wait to return!

Had a great time (as usual) at one of my go-to favorite places! My husband had the salmon and I had the trout. Great coffee and desert as well. Service was and always is, wonderful! It made my birthday all the more special.

The land & and the bacon wrapped shrimp, the tirumasu, to the Georgia of the South was perfect for my husband & I's anniversary. We came here while back in 2023 and decided to make a second round for the new year. We are so glad we did! This place is absolutely amazing to the beautiful interior! The staff is always friendly, thorough, and consistent. Everything was cooked to perfection, and I loved that the steak was cooked to medium rare, and the dessert was delicious. You could taste the coffee! Thank you, this is our must stop any time we can come to Durango. (We tried the prime rib and Chicken Saltimbocca in 2023, and it IS delicious!! Anything on the menu is a must try!)

The food is okay. The vegetables with my steak and lobster were sauteed brussel sprouts and red pepper. So boring and not prepared well. The mashed potatoes were cold. They made all of the temperatures for our steaks wrong. The room we were in was too cold to take my jacket off which was annoying. $200 for two people, the food and service should have been better. I will not be coming back.

The food was pretty good, kind of boring, the veggies were very simple...sauteed Brussel Sprouts and red pepper; the mashed potatoes were cold. They got all the temperatures wrong on our steaks. The room we were in was cold and I wasn't comfortable enough to take my leather jacket off which was annoying. I won't be visiting again, for the price it should have been better.

Food was terrible. Cardboard fish. Over cooked prime rib. Onion were raw in French onion soup. Waitress was very kind but not listening. Water of $100 for 2

We really enjoyed our dinner at The Mahogany Grille. Part of it was the atmosphere of historic Durango that we liked. The food was good. Among us we got the filet and lobster, elk steak and rare tuna steak. They were all good...not the best we have ever had. The service was ok. There seemed to be long pauses between the waiter checking on us. And he refilled my tea way more often than my husband's. lol. Overall, we would go back. I especially liked the western Victorian vibe of the hotel.

Very nice restaurant and nice meal. Server was very nice and helpful. 15 minute wait to start the evening waiting on our ordered cocktails, and then told they were out of bread, we only hiccups. Steak was good but prices have certainly rose to match The Ore House, which wasn't always the case. Overall a nice and enjoyable good meal.
