The Ore House is a staple in Durango. A classic steakhouse that is doing a great job of integrating some modern twists to keep everyone interested. My wife and I love coming here for special occasions when we are at our home in Vallecito. They have an extensive wine list that is carefully thought out. Do a GREAT job with the steaks and always make sure you have a nice evening. Make reservations so you are sure to have a seat as they are almost always on a wait or fully committed. If you’re looking for a great steak In Durango, you’ve found the spot. PS although they accommodate our children wonderfully when we bring them, there is no children’s menu. Our kids love steak lobster and crab so we normally have them share the surf, surf & turf but if you have picky littles be forewarned

great service and great food. They have quite a lot options for gluten free. The bartenders Mark and Taibe make great cocktails.

Delicious entrees, soups and cocktails. The service was good. Only complaint is that our appetizer of fried mushroom petals was lacking. The sauces that accompanied them were great but the mushroom petals seemed to have been deep fried way too far and tasted of the burnt cornmeal coating on them. Other than the appetizer this would have been 5 stars.

The food is good but it is SO overpriced for what they offer. It's definitely the best food in Durango but that's not a very high bar. Other high end steak houses across the country that share these prices are better. They used to do a local offer which got people in the door. They stopped, so we stopped going.

I don't ofter eat steak at a restaurant, since I am a chef and no one can make one as good as mine, but I was pleasantly surprised. We stopped in the Ore House at the end of a backpacking trip around Durango, and I ordered the Filet. I would have to say, it was the best steak I have had at a restaurant. It was grilled perfectly and the blue cheese on top was a huge plus. Another highlight was the pair of bartenders. We chose to sit at the bar due to not having a reservation and were not disappointed. I had a great Margarita and had constant entertainment from the pair. Would definitely highly recommend this place and will be back every time I am in town.Parking: We had to park several blocks away.
Amazing dinner experience. We made reservations for later on the evening, but we got into town earlier than planned and were hungry and they were able to accommodate us earlier at the bar right away. The service was stellar, the bartenders were interesting and personable, and the food was amazing. Top tier all around.

My husband and I were treated to the best experience at the Ore House. Iris and Ian set up an incredible meal for us to enjoy to celebrate our recent wedding. We were blown away by the wonderful time we had. Every part of the experience was great. The service was exceptional, the food was unreal, and the atmosphere brought everything together perfectly. I highly recommend trying it out if you get the chance!
Their appetizers and cocktails are amazing. Their ability to cook a steak is severely lacking.I would recommend this place only for their cocktails, cornbread and bacon butter. If you want a cheaper and comparable steak, buy any cut from a nearby grocer, and throw it on your car's radiator.

Had a wonderful meal with family. Highly encourage trying this restaurant if you haven’t. It’s pricey, but delicious and the presentation of the plates is well done.
The Best! Nothing else in town is even close!
