This place is awesome, better than rice monkey, and east by southwest. They should change their name to Sushi King!

I know they were busy, but the waitress forgot my drink order, and it took 15 minutes for it to show. The sushi wasn't the best I've ever had. There was one good one and then one that had an off-putting taste from the fish. It was an ok experience overall, but I think it was overpriced for the quality.

Took my husband here for his Birthday. Friendly staff and nice environment. Prices and food were very good. Will come again.Edit: September 2023Within hours of eating here. I got the worst food poisoning ever. Threw up 4 times. Last 2 including blood. Worst god awful stomach cramps I have ever experienced. Me and husband ate the exact same thing, yet I got the food poisoning? I know it was the food from here since that’s all that was coming up. Bits and chunks of crab, down to the last bits of rice. The only thing I had different was a mojito. Contaminated mint leaves ? Ice ? Cross contaminated California roll ? The edamame bowl also had bits octopus? Fish ? Some type of meat ? I had noticed every time we went, there were new sushi chefs and rolls were on a 30-40 minute wait. Witnessed a sushi chef pick up some trash from the floor, really hope they changed their gloves after that. I really loved going to this place weekly but I am traumatized from the pain and vomiting I went through. I picked up something god awful from this place. I don’t think I’ll ever be back.

Great late night spot for sushi... And by late night, I mean like 9pm, but still, it's a lovely selection of well made and reasonably priced sushi and related fare.

Pop Sushi was BUSY! Especially for their Monday Happy Hour. Make sure to make a reservation before you go. But the service was good, the sushi was great, and the armosphere was fun and vivacious. I defibitely recommend!

This is my preferred sushi restaurant! Out of downtown, close to home. Park right outside. I got taken care of right away by Blaine who greeted me at the door, he was also my server. He made sure to take really good care of my kids. I ordered the chicken teriyaki and he split up everything for my picky eaters! Loved my experience with Blaine and my wonderful food. The service was very thoughtful and the food was delicious! Thanks pop sushi!

I want anyone reading this review to know I used to love this place and regularly go here years ago and here’s my reasoning for why I stopped going:This place is always busy, they need more space and they can clearly afford it. I called 3 times to get no answer when they opened this afternoon. Then when we got there we had to wait 2 hours, I only think we got in because we kept annoying the hostess to get a table. At first they told us 1 hr wait and an hour later they bumped it another hour, the food is good don’t get me wrong but it isn’t 2 hour wait good. Get a bigger space. Seriously.Update about year after my original review:Came in on a slower day. Takes forever to get service. Have to remind the waitress about my drink. Waters don’t get refilled, food takes forever. All this was happening while the waitress was taking shots at the bar. I used to love this place when we first moved to Durango but they really have made it a frustrating experience to eat at recently. Just go to east by southwest at this point. If you absolutely insist on coming here, try the king lobster roll, it’s the reason I continue to give this place a chance.
