Can’t speak highly enough about the Rochester! I just stayed there for my second time and couldn’t be happier. This time we brought our dog with us and he loved his stay too. You can’t beat the location, central to everything, pretty views. The staff is incredible, personable, and are extremely helpful. Major bonus points for actual comfy beds and pillows. And the style and aesthetic is the cherry on top! And if you ever get a chance to stay at their hotel in silverton, The Wyman, I highly recommend! Thank you for our perfect stay!!

This is the place to say if you come for a visit. Clean rooms, well kept recently remodeled interior of the entire place. Great parking, close to everything, and everyone was helpful and nice.

I’m so blown away by this place. I typically always stay at the “big” places when traveling. I’m so blown away, what have I been missing!? This motel is strictly amazing. From check in, to the room, to the staff. Is this what boutique hotels are like? Coming to Durango? Stay at The Rochester.

We stayed at the Rochester hotel for one week and it was great. The location is perfect, walking distance to the Main Street and lots of lovely restaurants and cafes. The staff was exceptionally friendly, thank you everyone for making us feel so welcome. The hotel provides a small but healthy and fresh breakfast every morning and you get a complimentary drink at the bar every evening. These little things made our stay very pleasant and we would definitely recommend staying at the Rochester hotel when visiting Durango. Also recommend stopping by for a drink in the evening for outside guest, the bar is great!

Alexis was awesome. She was super inviting and a joy to talk to. The room was charming and very comfortable, as was the rest of the property. I also enjoyed how quiet it was while also close to all Historic Durango had to offer. I would stay again! Thank you.Nearby activities: Close to Main Street.Walkability: Nice off-main street.

Love staying here! Such a cozy and elegant space. Winter days were quiet and perfect for my husband, myself and our 2 pups. Looking forward to staying here during warmer months too, so we may experience the courtyard activated. Highly

I used to live here back in the 1980's before they redone this building. It has changed a lot since I been there. Got some old pictures before this was done. I like the new look of the place.

Cute and clean place! The bed was the most comfortable bed I think I've ever slept on when traveling. After booking the room, I immediately received a text regarding what to expect, details of the hotel, how to get into my room, etc. No interaction with staff as they recommended texting with any inquiries we may have had which was no big deal as we had everything we needed. Parking wasn't bad. You could either park in the parking lot next to the hotel or right behind it with limited parking. Texted when we checked out.

Unfortunately, the Rochester sold the Leland house, we visited for six days during Christmas And the Rochester sign is no longer on . Front door stays locked It is very sad. This was an outstanding hotel with an outstanding staff & breakfast. The Leland was very accommodating , but we will not be staying there again either. The back parking has become a circus. There is no longer a barricade pole to separate the dispensary parking. Interior Design of the Leland has become modern no longer historical. Both will be missed!

Oh boy. Just like the Wyman hotel, found a burnt American flag draped over the bed frame as soon as I walked in. A sight to behold. They really know their service. Everyone was super nice to me. Except Chester. He wouldn't stop kicking me every time he saw me. Even when I had a one-on-one sit down talk with him about how I actually don't think it's funny to be kicked, he proceeded to kick me. Honestly, I think he enjoys it, since he keeps laughing every time. But other than that the service was phenomenal. The shower had great water pressure, even though sometimes it wasn't water that came out but I can handle sticky situations well so I got over that quickly. Can I just say something. I don't understand how the management hired a man like Chester to work at this hotel. He kept throwing things at me when I was eating in the lobby. No one even noticed. I felt crazy. I know for a fact he was throwing things at me, but every time I asked him to stop, he would just proceed to kick me and laugh and skip away. What is he doing? Sorry, I just had a lot of negative experiences with Chester that got in the way of my amazing vacation. Speaking of, the breakfast was amazing. The food was top-tier breakfast food and even the dinner had a great spin on it every night. OK, one last thing about Chester. I found his name tag in my room one morning after I got back from a night out with some colleagues. My wife, who was staying with me, said she doesn't know how it got there. The fact that she was there all night and didn't see how Chester's nametag got into the room makes me think that he's sneaking in and messing with my things when we're not in there. I confronted him about it the next day and he just laughed at me again. I feel like Chester might have some emotional issues, so I am gonna go easy on him, but he did hinder my joy throughout the trip. Unfortunately, I need to go to marriage counseling now, so I am going to end my review here. Thank you for such a great time! I loved the stay, and hopefully Chester can get the help he needs!
