PLEASE don't shop here! The owner, a sour-faced old man, is heartless and I would ask that all of you caring human beings not fund his retirement. A couple of weeks ago, I went in there to find some small bowls. While in there, my body forcefully told me that I needed to use the restroom in the next few minutes. I asked a nice sales lady if I could use theirs (I've been shopping there off and on for over 20 years. For over a decade, I worked a few blocks from there, and now live close to Evergreen). She apologized and said they didn't have a customer restroom. I said, please, I don't have time to get up to the King Soopers, my need is urgent. I whipped off my hat to show her my bald head to quickly indicate my current medical condition - you can fill in the back-story for what caused that. She was so kind and led me over the the sour-faced man (he actually had a sneer on his face before either his employee, or I, said a word). She explained my request. He said no, our restroom isn't ADA approved, and the he could get sued. I said 'huh', I'm not disabled, and pointed to my bald head. By this time, I was so upset, I was probably speaking a little loudly (certainly not shouting, but urgently speaking). He said it's not wheelchair approved. I looked at him blankly for a moment, not understanding. I said you can see I'm not in a wheelchair, what has that got to do with it? He again said he could get sued. By this time, my need was extraordinarily urgent. I again said please! I saw him looking over my shoulder and I glanced back to see what he was looking at. There were about 5 people (customers and sales people) standing behind us listening. He started walking away from me towards where I knew the bathroom was, so I trailed along behind him, thinking he had relented. Nope, he turned away from the restroom and glared at me. I pleaded, I'm not going to mess it up, please! The humans had followed us which he saw. He turned and repeated that he could get sued. I replied testily that I won't tell if you don't, and I seriously doubt the head of the ADA will mind under these circumstances. Finally he jerked open the door of the restroom to shut me up and I went in. I left no footprint, thanked the saleslady as I headed to the front door, and left. This experience is burned into my soul. I have never been so offended in my life, and I will NEVER, EVER shop here again! What an uncaring 'person' he is. I'm sure his mama was rolling over in her grave at the appalling behavior of her son. His only concern was about money and the infinitesimally remote chance that the ADA would hear about the incident and sue him! I wouldn't wish my current condition on anyone, including him, but I fervently hope that before he dies, he has a similar experience as he gave me, in the hope that he might finally have some humility. I say again, PLEASE don't shop here! Good people, thank you for your time in reading my review, and please give it a 'thumbs up' so others will read it, to encourage them to avoid this business.

Rude staff. I was not greeted when I entered and the store clerk was rude and snobby and not helpful in the least. She lost out on a large potential sale. It looks like a great store but I will not give them my business.

I really like The Village Gourmet in Bergen Park, CO. I don't always find what I went in there for but, I always walk out with something that makes me happy. Very friendly staff, as well.

Our go to place for anything & everything kitchen. Knives, pans, placemats, storage containers, coffee makers, spice racks etc. The owners are friendly and helpful. We need more Village Gourmet and less Sur la Table.

When heading up into the mountains from the Foothills of West Denver, you must go to this fabulous kitchen store in Evergreen/Bergen Park! It's actually HUGE, and has everything imaginable for your kitchen, dining room, holiday themes, and pets! Just loved this store and would make this a definite stop anytime you head up through Morrison, Golden, or Ken Caryl!

Everything you need for a kitchen but high prices. Look for sales! The sweet shop unfortunately has chocolate truffles that look gorgeous but taste like they've been sitting for some time. Expecting soft Grenache center but it seemed tough and hard to bite. At $4/each thought it would be better/fresher.

I just stopped in this store after a few months of wanting to take the time. It was such a beautiful and enjoyable experience. The customer service is exemplary and they have a truly comprehensive selection of kitchenwares, spices and utensils. At first entrance the shop is almost overwhelming in that they have so much fun stuff to look at in such a small space, but after taking it in for a moment I found that everything is very neatly and thoughtfully arranged.

We're fortunate to have a well-stocked kitchen and gift store like The Village Gourmet in Evergreen. It offers a great selection of kitchen appliances, gadgets and basics. Also a terrific array of gifts such as gourmet foods, truffles, coffee, candles, lotions, soaps, aprons, etc., etc. There is a special children's gift section too. And don't forget that sales tax is only 4.5%-about half what you'd pay down the hill. Also they have a great annual sale with almost everything 20% off-I think it's Jan./Feb. timeframe-good time to stock up on kitchen items and treats. The staff is always friendly when I'be stopped in.

Amidst this "plan"demic. If you don't want people actually shopping in your store than stay closed, YOU AREN'T ACTUALLY OPEN!!! Went in to buy my child a gift for his birthday and crotchy Ladies shamed him for touching a toy and yelled at him that now they would "Have to sanitize EVERYTHING! Horrible horrible treatment today with ZERO awareness of how they were treating their customers. I wanted to support our local business, but guess what? I can buy your overpriced trinkets on Amazon without being treated like s#*t! Good luck with your "business model" Furthermore... if you are not "kid friendly", then why bother to sell children's and babies toys/goods??? Again, way too many options for shopping to be subjected to this completely rude treatment. You should know your customer base pays your bills, rent, etc... keep being rude, see where that gets you.
