This place has a lovely atmosphere. It’s bright, clean, and modern. My father and I went there as it was highly recommended. The first thing we noticed is that they play music too loudly in that space. We ordered appetizers which came a bit slowly. His miso soup was fine. Nothing amazing. My seaweed salad was beautifully presented, but absolutely swimming in dressing. Then we ordered sushi and things started to go down. Our waitress took my order and turned to leave. I had to call her back to take my father’s order. So rude! Then we waited far too long for our sushi when there were only five tables occupied in the restaurant. The waitress came back to double check our order because she said she couldn’t read her own writing. This really doesn’t inspire confidence. Finally, they brought me my roll which was lovely and delicious, but served with far too little ginger and wasabi. I was almost done with a 10 piece roll before they brought my dad anything. The sushi was very good, but I’ve definitely had better. My dad never received the roll he ordered. They offered to give it to us free, but by that time, we were too disgusted to take them up on it. Then they offered us one free dessert. That sounded good so we tried it. Dessert was very good. All in all, the food is good, but after the terrible service, I’m not interested in returning when there are so many other great choices for sushi here in Denver.

Very good sushi in an energetic atmosphere. It was very busy on a Friday night. We were reserved for the counter but was given a table, which was better in my opinion. The sushi dinner was really great. Our waiter was also very pleasant!

I enjoyed the omakase dining session with Chef Duy. There were 20 pieces of sushi, including lobster bisque and a cheesecake. It was $150 per person and you have to book at 2 days in advance. I highly recommend it.

Dewy was amazing. Knowledgeable, conversational and made the experience worthwhile. From the managers to staff everyone was attentive and we had a unique experience from the creative sushi to deserts. All made in house, fresh with a special touch we haven't see elsewhere. Highly recommend. Pricing is $$$ for this experience.

We were excited to celebrate our anniversary here . Got seated at sushi bar and then got ignored for 15 minutes and left . Thank God . Walked over to Jax and had an amazing anniversary dinner . Will pass on this place and stay with our sushi mainstay Ottoto and Izakaya Den where customers are appreciated ! Thank you Jax for a wonderful Anniversary Dinner! If you want loud and no service , go to Hana Matsuri .

Sushi at its best. Omakase here is personal and authentic. Executive Chef Duy delivers each experience personally. The service was outstanding and the food is second to none in Denver. The Aburi Salmon Belly was perfection. They have drink specials for a great value.

When you sit down at a sushi bar at 8:30 in the evening and see many different fish presliced you know you are not in an authentic sushi bar, and you may not want to eat there the next day when the fish isn't so fresh. There are no Japanese people working here and the sushi chefs are there to prepare orders coming from the waiters, not serving customers at the counter. Some sushi was too heavily seasoned. I've never seen nigiri pre soaked in soy sauce before. Fish pieces were very large so the place is very economical for those not seeking an authentic experience.

Chef Duy and Steven took care of us tonight and we will definitely be back. We got the omakase and you should too! It’s worth it. Just be sure to reserve in advance. Chef Duy will take care of you. He is very thoughtful with each of the courses he prepares and it all tastes delicious. Service was great too. Steven was very attentive and kind. I’ve only been here once but i’m certain he makes sure you have a great dining experience every time. 5/5 would recommend!

We mistakenly reserved a regular seating but Chef Duy and Steven were so accommodating and allowed us to order the omakase. It was the BEST omakase experience we’ve ever had. Chef Duy created some of our bites on the spot and boy were they life changing. The combinations he thoughtful chose were unlike any other, each bite better than the next. The quality and service here are second to none and we’ll definitely be back again

I can honestly say this is the first sushi spot in Denver that has made me rethink my favorite since 2018 (when Uchi first opened) — and being a huge lover of sushi, I take that statement very seriously.Hana Matsuri the 3rd of the family-owned Hana Matsuri locations in Colorado, but it is distinctly different, both in atmosphere and food. Under the direction of renowned Chef Duy Pham (with 30+ years of experience in Colorado restaurants) — this spot has truly blossomed. The standout is that this location offers a phenomenal omakase (of 20-ish creative pieces) for just $150/person! Think anything from the most delectable flame-seared toro, to monkfish liver, to uni & caviar on oysters. PRO TIP: you must call 1-2 days in advance to request the omakase menu, and it’s only offered at 6 or 8pm.Even if you don’t come for the omakase, the other options here are AMAZING. I’ve been shoveling sushi in my face for many years, and there are fish being flown in fresh here that I’ve never even heard of. For example, I had flying fish (tobiuo) for the first time! Not to be missed are also the aburi options (a specialty of theirs). Aburi means lightly-seared with a flame, and I think it’s the best way to keep fish raw, but bring out more flavor. Toro tuna and salmon belly are the obvious choices (pictured), but there’s also lobster, scallop, escolar, and more.Even for non-fish people, there’s something delicious here. Try the hot rock — which comes with an option of kobe beef, truffle duck, lamb chop, or chicken tenders. The fluffy molten chocolate “cake” definitely made the “worth it” list, despite my gluten intolerance. Must try!
