Best sandwiches in town, and dog friendly, plus lots of unique, delicious goodies for sale that you can't find anywhere else in town. I highly recommend the Truffle Shuffle sandwich and the Simple Sandwich, but all their food is great.

Cute store, small but fun selection of liquor and beer within walking distance if downtown hotels.

Overpriced sandwiches with barely any meat to justify the price... staff was a little rude too. Not good

I work a few blocks down from here, so I love to run down to this store and buy my lunch. My biggest complaint is the price at the deli, but to be honest I will pay it because it’s such a cool local place. And I’m a celiac so I have to order gluten free bread. I hear it used to be like $3 for that, but it’s only like $1 and for that I am eternally grateful. The sandwich combos are things you’ve never heard of, and that is exciting. The store itself is cool! They have products from other counties, and artisanal goods that really make you want to pull out your wallet. I bought a honeycomb for goodness sakes! Either way, stop in here, maybe grab a sandwhich, and don’t miss out! My favorite artisanal market. It’s at least worth a look. Plus there’s a built in candy store and homemade confectionery stand.Dietary restrictions: Good for pretty much any diet. Especially gluten free

I found The Hog and the Hen through an internet search when I was looking for catering for my mother's funeral reception. From start to finish, they had exceptional customer service and were incredibly helpful with logistical planning, especially considering that I am located in Denver and was not able to see anything in person ahead of time. Cooper recommended items that he knew would be crowd pleasers and reassured me that the number of items I was ordering would be enough; he even let me know that I was ordering too many items and should reduce the amount. The charcuterie boards and truffle tray were beautiful and had a delicious variety of items. And the sliders were a huge hit with our guests, we ordered the Barnyard, Fowl Play, Gardener, and Herbivore. One of our guests said that the Herbivore was "the best vegan sandwich I've ever had." Cooper hand delivered and set everything up for us at the mortuary and was even texting me that morning, offering to help with anything else we might need for the funeral service. Talk about feeling reassured that supporting his local business was the right decision! I would highly recommend using them for catering any event, or just to stop in and get something for yourself. The next time I'm in Grand Junction I plan to stop in for lunch to try some of the other sandwiches on their menu. Thank you to the entire Hog and the Hen team for making a stressful event a little less worrisome.Vegetarian options: The vegetarian and vegan options were clearly labelled and tasted just as good as the regular options.Dietary restrictions: They took great care to ensure there was no cross contamination for our guests with gluten and nut allergies.

Descriptive sandwiches on the menu, but ours was not as expected. Very little meat, lots of sweet goo and canned crispy onions, 'crunchy' roll was hot and chewy, chips were nearing rancid, very stale. Expensive for what you get. Specialty items galore, but I can't imagine how they keep that inventory fresh. Wish I had read thru these reviews before choosing to eat here.

We love Hog & Hen's deli for their sandwiches (Forager, Truffle Shuffle, and Presto Pesto are our faves) and their charcuterie boards for holidays! Also a great stop for a quick pick-me-up when you're walking around Main Street.

During the parade of lights at around 4-5:00pm on December 2 of 2023 a man who was around 6’3 used his height to intimidate me and my boyfriend as he accused us of being shifty and suspicious while we were browsing the candy. He asked me if i had the money (i did) to pay for the candy and told me “can you hurry up and buy something.” Beforehand he followed us around the store. We are minors and him following us around the store is incredibly unprofessional and disrespectful.

My little sister came here to buy some candy for a friend. It was overpriced but honestly the service she received was ridiculous. When she questioned the price, because she initially didn't know prices were by the quarter pound, (which is honestly not common) the worker was rude and basically told her she was dumb. Not good quality service and definitely not worth the price you pay for the candy. Get some employees who know how to be kind.

Went in to find a few odds and ends for Thanksgiving, found exactly what I needed (guanciale, which is hard to come by!). Knowledgable and friendly staff & a great shop. Definitely worth a visit.

Great homemade sandwiches and soups. We have used them to cater several business lunches. Everything is delicious especially the unique cookies from Gnarly Mountain!
