Came in for dinner and it was pretty dead. You’d think that with less than a handful of customer’s, the service would be stellar. Unfortunately, this was far from reality. We waited a long time to place a beverage order and even longer to order food.I will say that my margarita was delish and the large platter of carnitas nachos we ordered to share was very good. We were out of salsa, however and both wanted some to go with the nachos. It took 15-18 min to even be able to make eye contact with someone to wave them down. When we finally had everything we needed, we devoured the nachos. Partly because we waited so long we were famished lol and like I said, they were delicious. I did give 4 stars, only because I’ve dined here before with great service, but if my rating was based on this visit alone, it would have been a 2 or 3 star.The food and the atmosphere are always great, but service is a huge part of the experience and they were lacking in that area a little too much this time.

When we are downtown we love to go to the Rio. Be prepared to spend some money while you are here though. The Margs are good, and are a special during happy hour. The lunch specials are delicious but meager portions. My favorite are the quesadillas. I'm not a fan of the remodeling they have done, it used to be so colorful and beautiful inside. In trying to "update" the decor, it looks bland and warehouse-y. I will still eat there, just disappointed in what was supposed to be a glow-up.

Good service, atmosphere and food. Only disappointment, I went friend along touting the chicken tortilla soup I was craving. It wasn't the same as I was served before (tomato base instead of a clear broth) and I was totally bummed. Sorry, not as good.

The food was great and the manager Lozano was very good host with great Mezcal recommendations. I was super impressed with our waitress, who memorized our order and was precise with no errors. The ambiance of the restaurant was great and the new remodel looks beautiful. 10/10 recommend.

Waited almost 30 minutes. Had later parties come after us get seated. Told them we could do a booth. They asked if we would be willing to sit outside or it would take longer. They then told us the booth they just cleared was magically reserved now. Incompetent hostess staff.
