Most authentic South Indian cuisine I’ve ever tasted.

By far the worst Indian restaurant, i have been to in Denver metro area. Not sure if the cook has changed in the last 3 months. But the food was terrible. Even an amateur cook can make better food than this. The place was dirty and so were the utensils.Even with a very little crowd, the service was bad.

Terrible service and did not have a lot of items available (no thali, no veg biryani, no medu vada, no drinks) that was listed in the menu. Why advertise if they are not available in the first place. .We ordered a couple of curries and a combo C3-- waited more than 20 minutes just to be informed that the kitchen will replace one of the items of the combo (replaced medu vada with dosa). The food came out cold as well. A South Indian restaurant not having medu vada has to be a first. Our waiter even forgot to give us plates and only gave us plates after the food arrived.

They seated us, waited 15 to 20 minutes and didn't even get water. Never acknowledged us. Will go to the other four Indian restaurants in the area that let you try their food and deliver standard service. Go to Hyderbad House or Indias Castle instead. They are 5 minutes away from this location and don't operate like a ghost kitchen

The food was really good! It was flavorful but not tooo spicy. It certainly tasted authentic south Indian. The veg tali was sumptuous although few of the curries I thought were salty to my taste. One request to the management: please improve the restroom condition. They really need some maintenance.

Visited Madurai Mes for the first time and was pleasantly surprised by the quality of food. The dosa & medu vada were authentic in taste and made fresh. Would definitely recommend friends to try the place out.Folks reading the review - Please try the place out and support local businesses.

I have been there several times but tried it for the first time after they reopened. We went on a Monday evening which is usually the least busy time of the week. Also, we were the only customers. Even then, the service was worst. No one served water, tableware or napkins and we had to ask for them.. We ordered three food items and all three were not up to the mark. At the end, the restaurant manager did listen to us and also refunded for one of the three items and I appreciate that! But I strongly suggest that the restaurant should look into improving their food and service.

Downgrading the rating to One star. Used to love the food here until a couple of months back. The service was an issue, but atleast the food was good. Now the service at the place has become even worse and the food bad. Used to be our go to place for Indian food, not anymore.

I love Indian food, so I was looking forward to trying this restaurant. Unfortunately, I was very disappointed. To start, the service was bad. There were 2 waiters, none of who acknowledged me for about 10 minutes while I was sitting at the table. When I finally got the food (chicken tikka masala), it was lukewarm. It did not taste good, it was greasy and had a bad consistency. The naan that I ordered was toasty and lukewarm as well.I wasn't given any bring cutlery, I had to ask for it.When they brought the cutlery, the waitress was grabbing the part you put in your mouth with her hand, after I saw her handling other's people's credit cards and money (seriously?).I wasn't given a napkin, I had to ask for it.I wasn't given water refills, I had to ask for it.To sum it up: bad service, bad food. Avoid.

Went to this place many times. Have good options for tiffins. Kari dosa is good here. Also have few breakfast combos. This place has many togo orders and sometimes its busy too. Most of the times food is good and tasty. But sometimes i found it average too. Customer service is good. Overall i would recommend this place.

Arrived at Madurai Mes-Authentic Indian Cuisine at 5:150pm; early dinner. Upon arrival my wife & I stood at front door looking in as wait staff & owner walked by without seating us; we finally walked over to table on our own & sat down. There was one table with 6 people sitting (very obvious this group of 6 were family or relatives) being served by owner & 1 waiter. Another waiter was setting tables as we waited 4.5 minutes-&-no-service. When this "free" waiter decided to serve us he asked if we wanted bottled water "first clue on this disgusting restaurant; besides floor being dirty & needing to be swept). When we said no to bottled water (of-course waiter brought us warmed tap water (yes warm) in a 6 Oz glass) (Revenue-"$" was being thought about with the bottled-water-strategy; let's not kid ourselves-on the warm tap water- -given-to-us) And we waited & waited when the waiter finally brought us a Xeroxed faded copy of the restaurant's menu; all this time the owner & 1 additional waiter were hovering over the only other occupied table in the restaurant with 6 diners-who-we're obvious-Family. When our waiter never returned after 4 additional minutes we decided-Madurai Mes didn't need our business or didn't want us there (not wanting us there at this restaurant was clearly evident-&-comminuted by the Madurai Mes restaurant owner & staffs behavior. If this 'Madurai Mes / owner treats customers with such ill regard in front end of restaurant business it makes a very big statement to possibility's & concerns as to what is going on in back end of business. If you want to be treated by Madurai Mes Restaurant as a 'non customer' & lacking-to serve all customers with respect--please--visit this restaurant for the ultimate 'Smack Down & humiliation...

Reviewing while sitting in the restaurant.Pathetic service. We are family of 4 dining including 2 kids. They served half and forgot to serve food for my wife. We finished our food- washed hands- while the wife is still waiting- reminded server 1-2 times but still no food. You need to remind them for plates, water and cutlery. Not coming back again.
