For the record, this review is for the Rocky Mountain Taco **food truck** over in Avon next to the bus stop. Everything we had here was sooooooooo good and very reasonably priced. A few items were surprisingly cheap. In any case, I recommend giving them a try. We went there twice as it was so good the first time.

The food here is the best in Avon. It rivals NYC Mexican food. The service is great. Ambiance? We're outside between mountains in Avon, CO...it's amazing views all around. The pork burrito is to die for. Chips and salsa is homemade and amazing.

Best taco from a truck I think I ever had! Found this gem out and adventuring in Avon. Staff was so friendly and chatty that was meant to be a twenty minute meal turned into an entire afternoon adventure! I really wish this truck was around more! But I am tracking them on the socials and my retired bum will take the drive wherever to get this quality level of tacos! Corn tortillas = TO DIE FOR!

I love RMT! My only complaint with the Gypsum location is that their hours are remarkably inconsistent. Closed today even though it says open on Google.

Atmosphere: 5

Food: 5

Service: 5

We have been in Avon for 7 years now and didn't know about RMT. Great food from a truck. I didn't expect to get such a fabulous meal.

Lots of people love this place. However, one look at the menu and I noticed they put guacamole on their carne asadas. Enough said.

This review is for the Rocky Mountain Taco Trailer at the Vail Farmers Market. I was excited to try them out because of the many good review. In all honesty the tacos where garbage, had a bite of each and put them in the trash.Carney Asada: the meat was closer to mush than nice diced steak, the texture reminded me of a can of roast beef hash. The flavor was very bland, the avocado covered up the beef. I added some of their spicy salsa on my second bite and it did not help much. I think the biggest issue with the taco was probably the texture of the meat.Hippie Crack: Couple of issues. They do not double the corn tortilla so this was busted right out the gate, could not even pick it up without most the filling falling on the plate. The filling reminded me a Taco Bell Burrito, just a mush of bland babyfood.I hate to be this negative in a review, but it is a rare occasion that I would throw a taco away without finishing it, especially when I was hungry. I am not sure if the other locations food is this bad or it was just this one off trailer. Cannot recommend or return.

I live all the way in Omaha, about 9 hours from the closest Rocky Mountain taco, my fiancé and I tried it while driving through last summer, we made a trip this weekend, specifically to get Rocky Mountain taco, that’s how amazing their food is. We have had both the taco truck and had great service and food and we have ate at the restaurant in Minturn, both times they were extremely busy but very friendly and food was quick and soooo delicious. I definitely recommend to anyone and everyone!!

Nice place to stop for roadside tacos. The chips were especially good

We also went to the main location in Minturn after a hike right before the city. Best nachos I’ve ever had. Great view from their patio too

Best tacos and burritos in Vail valley. Chips and guacamole are really good and freshly made as well. My goto order is the Alambre burrito with jalapeño cream.

After a full half-day of skiing in Vail (meaning, we started with first chair, quit before one, but still got almost 19,000 verticals in), led by our friend John, who lives in Edwards and knows Vail (and BC) like the back of his hand, we were ready for some grub and grog. This is one of those off-the-beaten-path food trucks that only locals know, paired with Vail Brewing Company for a symbiotic set-up (grub-grog), but it is separate, outside of VBC in the parking lot, in a truck. To order, you go outside of VBC and walk up to the window to place your order (thank goodness it's not cash only), and they give you a buzzer to let you know when to pick up. There are a variety of sauces you can help yourself to when you pick up the food. I went with 3 tacos (see photo - the carne asada, alambre, and hippie crack, which is vegetarian); it was about the 'right' amount of food (the reason I'm able to lose weight on this 10-day ski trip!), but look out if you ordered the tacos - TWO people eating it will still pack on the pounds even after a hard day of schussing. Will likely return if we're out this way again.
