Ordered takeout and when I got it home and took the lid off of the container and immediately smelled a rancid smell. All of the fish smelled old. Called the restaurant to inform them and all they did was make excuses. Will not be ordering from here again.

The food was excellent. I was disappointed, however, with the Rainbow Roll because the fish slices were small. The rice overpowered the fish. But the gyoza, Fancy Lobster Roll, scallop and fresh water eel sashimi, seaweed salad, and Unicorn dessert roll were all excellent. The ambiance is cheap. Plastic chairs. Simple tables. The restaurant was so cold that I had to ask the waiter to turn up the heat. Most of the other customers wore their jackets. It's not exactly the kind of place to take someone on a date or to have a romantic dinner. I would give it five stars if they upgraded the décor and turned up the heat! It cost us about $116 for dinner for two. It's too expensive for that kind of décor, and for it being so cold. For those reasons, I wouldn't recommend dining there, but would recommend that you try their take-out. Actually, why would anybody order sushi take-out for that amount of money? I'd rather have a wonderful experience dining-in. But, it's up to you.

Food took forever to come out and server forgot food we ordered. Shrimp tempura roll was soggy and found lots of bones in the eel. Very low quality sushi.

I highly, highly recommend Sushi Aji! Not only are the staff (Stella at the register) and owner (Yuki) very friendly, they are equally efficient, and the food was fantastic! I was serviced immediately upon entering and I ordered to go at the counter. Even after arriving home, my sushi and noodles were packaged wonderfully with no issues or concerns. The establishment was also very tidy and clean. If you're looking for authentic, delicious Japanese cuisine, you know where to go :)

First time here and I really liked it. Just had sushi for a quick lunch and was delighted with the whole experience. The sushi was fresh and delicious, superb service and the place was light and clean!! I’ll surely be back.

It's more casual and was a little cold which is the only reason for the 4 and not 5 stars. But still a wonderful experience and great food. I forgot to take a photo (but I will when we go back) of the gyoza. They were the best gyoza (dumplings) I have ever had. Which says a lot bc I eat Asian and dumplings weekly. My husband had the hot sake and said it was great. We both enjoyed your traditional miso soup as well. Pros: Super fresh sushi Great menu options Excellent service Cons (none) Just some notes: Smaller if you have a very large group it may be tough or you may have to split up Casual - not a con for me but if you are looking for a fancy night out this is not it Cold - lots of windows and it was a cold night Don't wait and check this place out!!! You won't be disappointed.

This place has great sushi (I am vegan so I only eat the vegetable rolls, but the rest of my party said the sushi was great). It's a little on the small side so felt a bit crowded (They only have tables for four and we had five). Definitely recommend.Vegetarian options: They have a section of vegetable only rolls including asparagus, cucumber, avocado, and mixed. They are very good.

Sushi Aji has some of the best sushi I've tried in Lafayette. It's pretty good considering we're so far from the ocean. The food is nice but inside the restaurant is kinda dirty. It just doesn't seem very well taken care of and there are sometimes flies. We usually order for takeout for that reason, so I do recommend doing an order pickup with them!
