Cakes by Karen has done three of the four, of my daughters birthday cakes. They always do an excellent job, but this year they really outdid themselves with a unicorn cake, that my kid later said, was her favorite part of the day! Thank you so much for making it so special and extremely tasty!Additionally. Great customer service every time I call! You can tell the staff really cares.

I gave the order over phone while emailing photos for a friend's bachelorette. The cake design was not as per the discussion.The cake flavor was also completely wrong. I had ordered a chocolate cake with chocolate mousse filling but what I got was I think confetti flavor, sort of birthday cake and it was very dry.

I was so happy that they took my order with only 2 days notice. Not many places will do that! I am extremely happy with my cake. It came out exactly as I hoped it would! They did an amazing job piping on a truck on a jack and put on my special request math problem!! Thank you!! I would recommend Cakes By Karen!!!

Absolutely incredible work. I had a pretty difficult request and this place completely outdid themselves! The manager made it super easy, just had to email exactly what I wanted and it's perfect in every way! And it's significantly less expensive than any other quotes out there. I highly recommend this place for custom cakes!

I ordered a 10" cake one day, picked it up the next and I was so pleased with the result. They went above and beyond my expectations. A 10" cake is very large, by the way, and it fed a crowd. I chose the digital cake for my friend's 50th birthday and she was wearing a tie-dye shirt as a 13-year-old in the picture. They decorated the cake's sides in tie-dye with sprinkles on top and around the base. It was amazing and incredibly fun, and I was so impressed. The cake was a delicious marble cake with mousse filling and buttercream frosting. It was a huge hit and we will order from Cakes by Karen again. We picked ours up at the Lakewood location and I did everything over the phone and via email, which was extremely convenient.

A simple yet absolutely delicious German Chocolate birthday cake! Seriously everyone couldn't stop commenting on how light and fluffy and moist the actual cake was- then the frosting was divine too! Everyone at Cakes by Karen was so nice and pleasant to work with. This was our first time here (didn't know it existed!) but we will be back.

I ordered 2 cakes for Christmas from here. I picked them up and followed all instructions on transportation and refrigeration. Not even within 12 hours of picking them up, they both fell apart at the middle where the filling is - which means it was clearly a problem with how they were baked and put together. There were bubbles in the cake as well. The chocolate cake I ordered was done incorrect as well - the icing was grainy and a bad texture. Since the shop was closed on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, I couldn’t contact them to get an immediate response to correct the situation. So I messaged them on their Facebook page and asked for a response once they were back. They never did call back. I had to message again and then had to call them. They then responded with horrible customer service and told me I should have brought the cakes back to them in order to get a solution - but they were closed for the next two days after I got the cakes and the cakes literally fell apart, so it would be stupid and difficult and impossible to box them back up and take them back to the store. Also, why would I waste all that extra time and gas?? We went out of our way for these cakes. That’s the dumbest policy ever for food and cakes. 2 small cakes and over $86 and we didn’t even get to enjoy them and they have awful customer service in return, over priced and horrible quality. You can get much better cakes from Whole Foods for a much more reasonable price.

Had our wedding cake done here years ago and was the best tasting wedding cake I have ever had. Recently stopped in and purchased a birthday cake, and it was delicious! Sure, it's not grocery store prices, but sometimes paying a little more is worth the great taste!!

My place of work ordered a retirement party cake from here and it was delicious!Everything from the custard middle to even the icing.The cake itself was a sort of marble I guess, it was so good!I'm leaving a review because I looked up the shop from the logo on the cake box (because now I want to order something from here) and was so disappointed by all the negative reviews.
