We booked for breakfast at 10.00am on a Saturday morning and were seated and our order taken within five minutes. The food was cooked to perfection and arrived within twenty minutes along with the best coffee I’ve had in a long time. The staff were extremely polite and very friendly and everyone who entered the cafe was seated with with the minimum of fuss. The cafe is not overcrowded with tables and feels very comfortable but there is also an outside undercover seating area and an uncovered seating area in a garden at the back of the cafe. Overall a very enjoyable experience which I would highly recommend.

We traveled up to Castleton in the Peak District for the weekend with friends. We decided to have lunch in Roe’s café and what a fantastic welcome. We got from the delightful Angela. We enjoyed some Northern banter with her so great. We chose the steak ciabatta for lunch, which was absolutely delicious. The weather was excellent so we sat in the real garden which was the most beautiful setting. We had a delightful lunch and highly recommend this café.

Amazing food and service. The gluten free options were incredible and I was really taken seriously when I mentioned coeliac. The lady with the catch kidston glasses on (sorry I didn’t catch her name!!) was amazing and made everyone at the table feel so welcomed. She made sure my allergen was taken super seriously so big credit to her! The cafe was busy and our food still came out amazingly with a big order and a relatively small kitchen. It was one of the nicest lunches for such a reasonable price! Lovely place and will be returning !

It was so so great! We came here for a late breakfast but turned into brunch as the portions were quite generous! Food was delicious and staff really kind and as soon as we sat down our dog had its own water bowl too :) The sun was blazing so they quickly opened the table umbrellas to give us some nice shade- it was bliss !!! I cannot stress enough how good the food was, the service was a tiny bit slow in compared to other places but we didn’t mind at all as the atmosphere was so lovely and the food definitely worth the wait :)

We visited the Rose Cottage Cafe and Bistro today (11th June) and it was our first visit. It was a family outing for a lunch and we booked in advance. What a pleasant surprise! Service - outstanding, the best in a very very very long time. Angela who served us was the so engaging and polite, an asset to the place. Flawless! Food was yum! Reasonable prices, genuine food, not pretentious but GREAT. Freshly cooked meals. Cakes to die for. Honestly, worth a visit, we will be back. Angela, thank you ❤️

What a find on a hot day! Lovely hidden oasis out back with no road noise. Very friendly staff, chilled rose and peaceful setting - just what was needed. The cakes looked delicious - I'll be back!

Absolutely fantastic! Adam who I believe is the manager welcomed us on our first visit Saturday afternoon for what we proposed to be some “coffee & cake”, after viewing the menu we went all in with fish and chips, the food was superb, Ange took our order and had a brilliant personality, she had us both laughing and we’d have been happy for her to join us! We sat in the garden, which was busy with guests, but a quiet relaxing atmosphere! We enjoyed our lunch so much we returned the following day for lunch again. Even though it was clear they were very busy Adam accommodated us a lovely table in the garden, he remembered us well and so did Ange. Myself and my girlfriend could not have asked for a better experience, we will certainly be returning on our next visit to Castleton. We would both highly recommend the Steak ciabatta it was amazing. Anybody visiting Castleton must try Rose Cottage.

Absolutely amazing. We spent a day in Castleton and came across the Rose Cottage and stopped for lunch. Angela and Adam from the first step through the door were so friendly and professional. We actually came back in the afternoon for a coffee and slice of cake!!! Both times the food was absolutely amazing….. we would recommend if you are looking for somewhere to eat in Castleton

Beautiful friendly place for tea/coffee and scones. Staff went above and beyond. Relaxing and all ages catered for. Sat outside under the pergola. Scones freshly made. Would recommend to all.

The loveliest spot for breakfast, nothing is too much for the friendly staff and the food is always spot on! And if you're lucky enough to get a sunny day the garden out back is the perfect setting

We often eat here, and the food and service are always a pleasure. Today, we stopped in and sat in the gardens around the back, making the most out of some lovely weather. The full English breakfast was spot on as always, and everything came really quickly. The staff are fantastic and nothing is ever too much trouble. If you're ever in the area, make sure you stop in!
