We found this place on Yelp at the last minute while headed somewhere and short on time and it has become our FAVORITE local hole in the wall!! It's the perfect little mom n pop establishment. The service was quick and friendly. The SALSAS!!! So fresh and flavorful with a nice kick - we bought 32oz to-go! The breakfast burritos were simple but delicious. Prices were also great. Oh and absolutely do not forget to get yourself some horchata! Best I've had in awhile. Will definitely be frequenting this spot when I'm craving some good, authentic Mexican!

I walked in to order a to go meal and I was given chips and two different salsas to munch on while I waited. Super friendly and attentive!! The food is great on top of the wonderful service. This will be my new go-to for Mexican in the Denver area!

Great place! Amazing tacos, high quality food, great prices, good portions, very long staff. I have been there multiple times and the quality is always the same. Highly recommend if you're in the Highlands craving good Mexican food!

I wish I took pictures of the burritos, tacos and quesadillas we ordered here... but we were so hungry that everything was half inhaled by the time I even thought about it. We found this place on Yelp and decided to try it on a whim. Definitely a hole in the wall and family-owned feel that was just perfect. The staff here were very warm, chill and attentive in a casual way. The menu is rather simple and filled with expected favorites including a variety of rice/protein plates. Seating here is VERY limited inside (~5 tables at most?) and we saw that many folks were just taking their food to go. Everything we ordered was super tasty, nothing sketchy about the ingredients or sides, and overall it was a great and authentic experience. We'll definitely come back when we're in the area again!

From the outside Taqueria La Familia may not seem like a show stopper, but don't be fooled! Quaint spot that serves affordable and delicious food with a family run vibe. Very limited seating, but amazingly my taco hunting party of 7 was able to commandeer enough seats to be comfortable. Good menu selection with great portions and everything was delicious! I went with the veggie option and was very satisfied. Everyone working there was also very friendly. To those looking to quench their thirst: they do not serve alcohol, so catch a happy hour elsewhere before stopping here for the yummy noms!

Excellent! Best Mexican food in Denver and we've been searching for 20 years. Everything is homemade and delicious. I had the green chili dinner plate and my husband ordered the chili rellio. The green chili was amazing!!! We would highly recommend and will drive across town to eat here again! Service was fast and friendly. There are only 4 tables inside with 3 more outside. Yummmm!

The man that was there did the hosting, cooking, serving, and checking out. I can tell that he is very hardworking. Told him we were in a rush and he graciously cooked as fast as he could. Docked a star because although he was very sweet, the tacos that I ordered lacked in flavor. Love the complimentary chips and salsa.

authentic flavors, ingredients and dishes. the hospitality is palpable from the moment you order. this is the type of place that will make something off the menu for you if you ask nicely -- i don't know if that's true, but the level of kindness and consideration from the proprietors suggests it is. the tacos are great and there is a veggie-friendly bend to the menu. something for everybody, if you like mexican food. bakery right next door. it's a great area for good mexican food, highlighted by this place. explore the menu, come back to support an earnest, deserving business.

My friends love this place but I was personally underwhelmed. Is what your would expect for any run of the mill Mexican restaurant. Enchiladas were average. The best part was the chips and salsa honestly.

The food was amazing!! Would highly recommend for yummy flavorful food. We had a taco platter, a quesadilla and their burrito super flavorful with a slight char taste to the meat very filling food. The owner was very sweet and friendly brought us plenty of food, but also let us have our privacy as we ate our meal. If you're in the area would highly recommend stopping by and complete your meal would recommend popping in the bakery that is two doors down that has been in business since the 80s and makes their pastries fresh every day. The only recommendation I would have is bring a jacket as the place was a bit chilly on the inside however, it was only 20° outside during the winter ( so everywhere is chilly this time of year)

Incredible neighborhood joint. Here you can find some classic Mexican dishes and aguas frescas, my go to is 4 tacos with everything (2 asada, 2 pastor) Chips and a cup of their hot pork Chile that is so so good!! I squeeze a lime, stir and add onto my tacos it's an absolute must. Check 'em out next time you're in the mood for some fire Mexican that's quick and inexpensive. Also huge shout out to the folks behind the kitchen holding it down! They're super kind and always have a smile on their face !

Great food. Great service. I enjoyed the chips and green Chile and salsa. The cheese and onion enchilada was my favorite of the three items that came in my combo. All were excellent though. Would definitely come back here. Good horchata, good food, friendly people and reasonable prices. 5 star.
