Normally I really love Betta Gumbo, but I was incredibly disappointed this weekend when we tried to go on Saturday at 2pm and they were completely closed. No sign, no hour change notice, nothing. Unfortunately, this is not the first time they have been closed during their listed business hours and I find that really unprofessional.

Closed during posted business hours with no notice or sign. Made a trip here out of my way to try the food and being greeted with an empty restaurant during business hours is really unfortunate. I was really excited to try this place while I was up here but that’s just how it goes I guess.

The service here is always excellent they have decent drinks, but the food is always a disappointment. We've given it more than one try (both at their old location and new) and every time I walk wondering why we went. From food coming out room temperature rather than hot, to nearly flavorless or unbalanced dishes that should be complex... Even the time we went for their crawfish boil was a disappointment when it seemed they just dumped a bunch of straight Cajun spice on the crawfish and didn't use the dozen+ other spices I would expect.

I'm not very fond of the mess of seafood boils, and 5his is one of the few remaining places with étouffée, for example. Food was delicious.

Great outdoor dining on square off 4th Street with easy free parking in garage. (Axe to Grind axe throwing is across the street to north.) The gumbo bowl ($12.99) was large and had just the right amount of burn. Shrimp étouffée ($18.99) was tasty. Both dishes served with cornbread. Server Hope was attentive.

Nope. Not a good experience. The food umm...we left it after two bites. The service was decent, hurried and just doing her job. Nothing to complain about with service. We've been to NOLA, traveling through Louisiana and Baton Rouge. This isn't Cajun or Creole food. It's just not.

The moonshine dreamsicle was incredibly potent, containing nearly 100% alcohol in the mixed drink. I ordered the catfish with crawfish etouffee on top, and my fiancé ordered the shrimp po'boy, both of which had decent flavors. It's worth noting that their seafood is mostly frozen, but having a good Cajun restaurant like this in Colorado is still quite a treat.

The food was amazing. The grits with shrimp in it were oh so delicious. I absolutely am snobbish about grits loving them from my Nana in the south. But, these grits were made top-notch, perfect amount of shrimp and butter.I had the sampler platter. The grits, as I mentioned, are amazing. The Betta gumbo was so good. It had a nice amount of spice to it. The jambalaya was just okay to me. It had a great amount of protein. I just personally don't love white rice. So, don't take my personal experience with it as a knock. The biscuit I ended up eating with the gumbo and grits. I would recommend trying this dish and restaurant out. If I lived in the area. I would go back and try multiple other dishes. This place was great. The only knock was our waitress. She did do a great job, though. The night we went there they had indoor music, which was really nice. I would just suggest sitting outside during those nights. The sound level inside can be a bit loud to tolerate or to try and hold a conversation with anyone.

I’m from New Orleans, born and raised. This place ain’t it. I had the catfish. It was breaded nicely, but didn’t have any seasoning. The fries come with an apparent “Cajun seasoning” but it’s not right. More spice than flavor. The sweet tea is decent, but could be better. Mo Betta can Do Betta.

Super sweet staff. The catfish was cooked well but (hit a few bone&) not really seasoned which was weird since the Cajun fries were super seasoned. LONG wait (round 7pm so go diff time if in a hurry) but kid loved the grits, I had some too. Hushpuppies have a little kick in case you wanna know. The Etouffée is very tasty. Will try next time.Dietary restrictions: GF and GM dishes.Wheelchair accessibility: There is a passenger un/loading right outside the square/courtyard. Tight squeeze getting in (I came in on Westside). I was able to maneuver around. But broken ankle not wheelchair bound. Nice staff will surely be accommodating.

We thoroughly enjoyed our food and drink for our first time here, full of flavor and the drink was well-balanced. Had a short wait when we first sat down but the food came out quickly and Jana took great care of us!Betta Gumbo is a Loveland must.

My family and I ate lunch here on the day of the Loveland Pagan Festival. The service was the best I’d ever had. The waitress was very nice, the manager was also helping tables and when I asked for more dip for the fried tomatoes (crispy and seasoned well) I’d ordered not only did he bring more dip he also brought a different Cajun dip to try which was delicious! My husband ordered a Caesar salad which was super good and was a generous portion. For my entree I got the crawfish etouffee which was AMAZING!!! The flavors reminded me of the jambalaya my grandpa used to cook when I was young nice kick to it too! Oh and it came with some ? corn bread. My husband ordered Matts pasta; he liked it but said he’s had better. I tried it and it could have been a little creamier but was still yummy! My kids ordered the chicken tenders which were good but the fries they came with were ? ?

Good food and great service. The ambience of this place was good and friendly. Drinks are amazing and moonshine is just the right combination with food.

I really loved this place as a Cajun restaurant over the last few years. However, I just visited the new rebranding this evening, and before even ordering food, I knew this place wasn’t ready for prime-time. As a veteran of the restaurant industry, these problems were especially glaring.I ordered and old fashioned and my mom order a margarita. It was clear that neither were up to snuff.Let’s, start with the marg. A good margarita has tequila, triple sec and a souring agent like lime juice and a little sugar. For most margaritas, sweet and sour serves as both sour and sweet. This margarita, however, has agave, lime juice, AND sweet & sour. It is complete overkill on the non-alcoholic elements of the drink. The agave and lime juice should be enough. When combined all together, it is a sugary nightmare and a hangover waiting to happen. The old fashioned had a similar problem. While ‘homemade,’ it was heavy on the sugar and fruit flavors. A good old fashioned is half the volume and just two shots of bourbon, bitters, a little simple sugar, orange, and a bourbon cherry. That’s not what we got. It was really unfortunate.Basically, the bar game was really disappointing. We didn’t even order food. We just exchanged our drinks for wine and beer.A frustrating experience overall.

The service was fine but the food is not very good. The jambalaya tastes like a pasta dish with tomato sauce. The cheese curds are decent.
