I came with my 2 kids and we purchased a lot of food; 2 racks of ribs, 2 lbs of sausage, and 1 lunch order. My kids told the front counter to make the order to go before I could get into the restaurant. The order was placed but I went to the hostess to see if we could still eat inside. She looked confused and said a manager will be with us right away. Here came the rudest manager on the planet. She came and told me, no you cannot eat inside, and I know for a fact that more than 3/4th of the tables were open and available.This left a bad impression on my kids and me and we will never step foot at Hickory House Ribs and Steaks ever again. Very inconsiderate people and they didn't realize I was going to give them a huge tip, if they had let us eat on a table.This was on 4/21/2024, during lunch hour and whoever that manager was, the owner should consider teaching her some manners on how to behave in front of kids and customers

My husband and I ordered The Feast for carry out, and it was absolutely amazing. We live pretty far, so it’s really inconvenient when we get home to find our orders are wrong, but the entire order was correct, which is a rarity now for take-out. On top of everything being correct, absolutely everything was delicious. My husband called them to tell them how amazing everything was, and the gentleman on the phone was amazing too. We will be going back and highly, highly recommend this place.

Yuck. That’s all I can say. Not worth the money. Can’t tell the difference between beef brisket and pulled pork… corn bread muffins despicable… they need to do better. And season the meat

Food was solid, but the half rack of ribs that came with the combo dinner were very small and the bones didn’t have a lot of meat on them. Great flavor and very tender, just wish there was more on them. Service and atmosphere was good.

Food was marginal. Service was deplorable! Three times food was brought to our table that was not ours. Once we received our order not one person came by and checked to see if we needed anything or if everything was okay. We had to ask for some hand/finger wipes, which being a barbecue restaurant should be automatically provided. There was two in my party and they brought out exactly two wipes. Not maybe one extra god forbid! Then when leaving I stopped to get a toothpick. Of course there weren’t any so I asked if they had any. The response was”uhhh, I’ll go down in the basement and check if we have any”. She came back with a little plastic sword that you would use when making mixed drinks and said this was all they had! Pretty sure we won’t be going back anytime soon!

I have been going to the Hickory House for 15+ yrs and it seems like it gets better every time.The onion rings are stupendous, and I love the protein plate for my ketoStill have to get a Togo box every time because of the size.Service has always been friendly and quick- Even with large groups.
Ordered a Hickory House Salad with chicken that wasn’t worth the money spent. The lettuce was limp and soft with maybe a table spoon of tomato and corn. It was essentially plain lettuce. The chicken was dry dry dry, chewy and ZERO seasoning. Some of the worst chicken I’ve ever eaten. The only pro was the homemade blue cheese. Not sure what it says when a BBQ place can’t make basic grilled chicken.

A friend recommended this place and it did not disappoint! When they stake the claim of best ribs in Colorado they aren’t joking. As someone who grew up near KC I get pretty picky about my ribs and these exceeded my expectations. They were cooked perfectly, and a delicious glaze, and the bbq sauce was very good. They have three choices of bbq sauce and I picked the classic. The sausage was tasty and so were the sweet potato tots. The tots were crispy on the outside and the perfect amount of chewy on the inside.As for the service, I was able to be seated at the bar right away and my food came out quickly. The staff were friendly and my waitress was very kind and provided great service. I will definitely be back!
