Downen House Bed & Breakfast
Oldest bakery in Pueblo but we just discovered it today on a little sightseeing/research trip we took today. We all had great sandwiches but my pastrami was amazing! Go check it out.

I'm all for supporting local businesses and I can't speak to the other items, but do NOT buy potica here. It's really dry and mostly bread. Potica dough should be rolled out very thin and have lots of nutty buttery goodness rolled up in it. This was mostly dry bread, they really skimped on what makes potica good. We were super disappointed, especially for the price we paid for two small loaves. Just make the drive to Mauro farms and get the real thing. It's worth it.

I have no idea how we've never been here. Everyone was friendly, the smell of Pizzelles filled the place. Left with way more then I intended. Will definitely go

picked up some Canoli shells and left with 4 other things. Immediately smelled the Pizzelles cooking. I'm never going to lose weight.

Very nice little shop to browse in. I ordered some of their trays and their (wonderful!) Pocketbook bread for a wedding. Price and food was awesome! Definitely recommend for events

Went in today and asked for a certain type of cookie. Older woman said she had some in back not frosted and walked away. A different lady went in the back and brought me out what I wanted. Hmmmmm, not frosted?

Can't beat the Italian sausage or the deli trays. The bread and baked goods are wonderful. We are lucky to have such a treasure in Pueblo.

Zoelsmann's is a treasure, not many places like this are left. They've been doing it for over 100 years. Many special Italian goodies. Tasty peanut butter cookies & great brownies. Great bread, rolls & deli case. They could do better on sandwiches, the meat & bread are good, but they rarely have lettuce, onion, tomato, etc. The old gal is gruff, and it rubs off on the daughter some days!
