Jonny absolutely knows what he's doing in the kitchen. This was PHENOMENAL. Food was hot, portions were plentiful, and the decor inside was cute and told the history of the place, which was a nice touch.

I’m told it’s luck of the draw when eating here. I’m not a very lucky guy normally but I really enjoyed the general chicken. It was a little different take on the traditional General Tao’s chicken but overall great!

I wanted to see what this place was all about, I have eaten a lot of Chinese cuisine, and this was the worst I have ever had. I ordered generals chicken with fried rice, wontons, and an order on egg rolls.1. I ordered the general chicken medium heat. Whatever John cooked the chicken in was flat flavor and no spice at all and never seen one chilly pepper, plus I have never had generals with zucchini water chestnuts.2. The fried rice was rice with maybe soy sauce, no veggies, meat, or meat. I have never seen rice looking3. Wontons were overcooked with no flavor at all.4. The egg rolls are all veggie and were soggy, I believe they were frozen store bought.I will not eat here again.

the cook was yelling at the poor girl taking orders and cussing her out, it took an hour, rather than 20 minutes that we were told, cook seemed intoxicated. won't go back and don't recommend to anyone.

This place is the best, hands down. Rangely has nothing to offer but if swinging through this place is a must. Good food, good people, best service. No one compares to the service you receive when you come to California Wok, especially in such a small town thats so outside of ordinary. Must eat here, you won't regret it.Vegetarian options: Delicious, best in town
To start I have lived here for 2 years & this is by far the worst restaurant in this town. This evening I ordered food from them, after waiting 35 minutes, as requested I went in to pick up my food. I was asked to wait another 20 minutes after 25 minutes I came to pick up my food. Upon sitting there a moment (you can’t stand at the counter because it makes the cook Johnny “nervous” & he starts yelling (weird)) the waitress, ignoring me after knowing who I was, I asked, is my order ready she looked at me blankly & said 1 more thing they needed. Well it’s been over an hour now & I know it doesn’t take that long to make premade fried rice & I know several other customers had been served before me (if you’re going to only serve dine in customers, don’t answer the phone & take to go orders) Now I no longer am hungry, I am upset. I will never order from this business again & highly recommended you just try to avoid the place.And to the waitress working, yes it is your job to make sure orders go in & come out as they are taken, the cook doesn’t know what you don’t tell them.

The food was absolutely delicious and I really loved how the food tasted. Although towards the later hours there's shouting and yelling from the waitresses to the cook. I wasn't sure what to think about when I saw a waitress pull a dab pen and smoke at the front desk where all can see, including our younger siblings. Other than the smoking and staff are under the influence, food was yummy.

I was waiting in my work van for my lunch time to hit and was on the phone talking. When, I assume Jonny the owner, comes out and starts to wave me down. He seems to ask what am doing so I point to my phone and gesture that I will be coming in in a minute to eat. I go in and asks if am there for pick up, I order my food pay and leave. A signs reads: don’t stand in front of the counter as you wait makes Jonny nervous. I got the sweet and sour pork with fried rice which was ok,

Only place we could fine open passed 8pm when we came through town and it was the best part of our day! Fresh, well seasoned and deliciousKid-friendliness: Sweet and sour chicken for the kids was a real win! The teriyaki chicken was so good I wish I could have brought home 5 orders!
Delicious, authentic chinese food found here!! The flavoring is bold and consistent. It's hard for my family and I to stay away from this place! I recommend Cali Wok to literally everyone who visits me in Encino!
