This is a nice place to stop for lunch. They have lots of options pre-prepared that you can grab. The Reuben and chicken sandwich are really good. Sometimes the options aren’t the freshest if they’ve been sitting too long. There’s lots of seating inside and outside. Unfortunately, the employees in the food service area are rude and unhelpful.

Unfortunately the restaurant has lost its charm since Ski Co took over from Gwyenn’s. Breakfast menu is very limited and factory-like. Chef just grinds out uninspiring food and no room for alternations.. ie you want a poached egg or over easy, forget it.. very disappointing.

The best spot to stop for lunch while on Snowmass Mtn. Great variety of food to choose from in the downstairs cafeteria and the bartenders were friendly. The soups and pretzels were particularly

The original Gwyn's High Alpine was far and away the best mountain restaurant on any of Aspen's mountains. Unfortunately, the corporation that owns the ski resorts decided to shut down a beloved family-run business and install a bland, cookie-cutter cafeteria that offers nothing worth your time. You could taste the love at the old High Alpine. Now you can taste the corporate indifference. What a shame.

The High Alpine Restaurant is one of the nicest ski lodges that we have ever stopped by for lunch in the middle of the day during skiing. The food was expensive but very good!

Owner complained that we brought a sack lunch even after we bought things to supplement what we brought. The ski company does not allow their properties to refuse service to people with sack lunches and Gwyn's is leased to the owners by the ski company and is on national forest property. This means that since they are not a private establishment on private property, they are not allowed to refuse service. (See Aspen times article detailing this) We would have been happy to leave after the owner made it clear that we should leave, but he came back not 5 mins later and said we could finish our lunch. Then 20 minutes later after he realized that we had bought drinks and fries he came back again for a third time and told us that it's a health safety concern to have skiiers bring their own lunches because they are not in a refrigerator and could go bad. The owner claimed that it was the responsibility of the restaurant if someone got sick OFF FOOD THEY BROUGHT! THEIR OWN FOOD. THAT MAKES NO SENSE! I have worked in the food service industry and have NEVER heard of such a rule. The number of times the owner's story changed confused us and he was very touchy while explaining all of this. It was very clear that we were not welcome but the owner didn't want to look bad in front of his other customers for kicking out 5 teenagers for eating lunch after buying items. This is the first time I have ever had this problem and I have brought a sack lunch many times before. I probably won't return untill next year when the ski company owns Gwyns because the owner made me and my friends feel uncomfortable and unwelcome. Otherwise this place has good food and a good ambiance. Maybe it was just an off day for the owner.

After you got a tray , you get a paper glass , you pour some hot water and prepare yourself your apple cider , by the time you get to the cashier the screen is waiting for you to give a tip before you pay. Why should I ?

First this restaurant isn't Gwyn's anymore. Gwyn's High Alpine deserved 5 stars. The new "High Alpine" is just an overpriced cafeteria with bad pizza, greasy burgers, pre-made sandwiches and salads. The chocolate chip cookies that are packaged are not fresh, they are frozen and defrosted, tasty but artery clogging. I tasted the grill oil on the plant based burger more than the burger and the pastrami Reuben, like 50% fat. I haven't met anyone who doesn't lament this change. I miss Gwen's. So sad to see this place go downhill.

Convent ski lodge at the top of the Alpine Springs lift in Snowmass. Fast, and easy to grab/order food.My dad highly recommends the chili (“right amount of spice”), and the serve yourself to unlimited toppings.

This is probably still the gold standard of on mountain eating at Snowmass even though George and Gwynn sold it to ski Corp. The building is still mainly intact even if they stripped it of most of its bathrooms. (Dot go here if you need to go!!! Head straight to the mall)
